Lysander is an outstanding looking young horse and always catches the eye out competing!
He has 74 BD points in few outings scoring consistently around 70%. He has 3 correct, soft paces and a lovely way of going.
This year he has been introduced to some jumping, both in the arena and across country. He has taken this new challenge in his stride and is gaining confidence and improving his technique all the time.
Even when he’s not quite sure of what’s expected of him he’ll try to do his best for his rider.
We feel he could be seriously competitive at grassroots level eventing with further jump education. With time, and further positive outings, we feel assured his good jump technique, combined with his proven dressage record would make him very competitive.
He seems to love a water jump, has been brave with steps and very well behaved in a 'team chase' type setting sitting politely in the middle or behind.
He has been ridden in open fields over jumps with a snaffle bridle and stays nicely with his rider.
He has done lots of hacking out on the roads in addition to this and has seen heavy farm vehicles, motorbikes as well as sheep and cows and copes well .
Lysander is a very personable horse and loves nothing more than a good cuddle in the stable during the mucking out which always takes a bit longer than it should with the chin tickles and neck rubs!
Lysander would prefer a home where he can enjoy a varied lifestyle including farm rides, cross country and hacking as well as some schooling.
Lysander can have a sharper, but not naughty, side so we are looking for a capable and confident rider to get the best out of him.
