Sparky is a true competition pony. My mum bought her as a 3-year-old, and I have broken and produced her myself from the ground up.
She has competed at BS at 85/90cm and always comes home with prize money. In just 5 outings she has won £181. In particular coming 2nd out of 63 starters at Hickstead in the British Novice.
She has also had a go at eventing at a Riding Club ODE, where she was double clear at her first outing.
She absolutely loves her job and it happiest when out competing
She is a brave, careful and competitive mare who really wants to do the job. She has plenty of scope and is the sort of pony that thrives on having a job and going out competing.
She's a proper pocket rocket when she gets in the ring. A genuine little competition machine who always gives her best.
Away from the competition environment, Sparky has a very sweet and affectionate temperament, although she can be pushy/bargy on the ground, so she is not suitable for an inexperienced home.
She can be distracted in the warm up but always gets in the zone as soon as she enters the ring.
She has previously been nervous of traffic, but has come a long way and is now capable of hacking alone with an experienced rider. She is happiest with a rider who is confident enough to think ahead and, where necessary, use driveways to pull into and give her a little space when she needs it.
She is not a straightforward ride on the flat, and for this reason I don't feel she would be suitable as a child's pony. She would ideally suit a competent, confident teenager or small adult who wants a genuine competition partner and is looking to progress.
Competition home only — absolutely no happy hackers. I am looking for someone who wants to get out there, compete and make the most of a very talented little mare.
This is a very special pony who has been so much fun to produce, and finding the right home for her is extremely important to me.
