Biscuit is our much-loved 12-year-old, 14hh Welsh Cob mare, looking for her new forever home due to me leaving for university. Having owned her for the last seven years, this is an incredibly difficult decision, so finding the right home is our absolute priority.
She is a genuine, kind mare with a lovely temperament and is a pleasure to have around. She is good to catch, groom, tack up, shoe, clip, load and travel, is well behaved for the farrier and is sensible in traffic.
Biscuit has enjoyed a varied life, attending Pony Club activities, training clinics, beach rides and fun rides, happily hacking both alone and in company. She loves getting out and seeing the world and takes new experiences in her stride.
She particularly enjoys her jumping and is comfortably jumping 70–80cm, having previously jumped up to 90cm at home at peak fitness. She has always been ridden to enjoy herself rather than to compete, so although she has no competition record, she has plenty of experience away from home. She has attended both jumping and flatwork clinics with trainers including Louise Harwood, always proving willing and sensible in new environments.
Biscuit is working well in walk and trot and is continuing to build strength and balance in her canter. She would benefit from someone who enjoys continuing a pony's education and bringing out her full potential.
She would be best suited as a second pony or for a rider with some experience who can continue to build her confidence and schooling. In return, she is a kind, honest mare who forms a lovely partnership with her rider and is incredibly rewarding to own.
As I'm currently in Year 13 balancing A Levels, Biscuit has only been ridden around once a week over recent months and therefore isn't at peak fitness. This reflects my lack of time rather than her ability, and she comes back into work well with regular riding.
She would suit someone looking for a versatile pony to enjoy hacking, Pony Club, riding club activities, clinics, fun rides and low-level jumping.
This is a heartbreaking sale, and she will only be sold to the very best home where she will continue to be loved and enjoyed.
