15.1hh 8yo Connemara Gelding
15.1hh, 8-year-old Connemara gelding. We bought him in June as a mother/daughter share, but have over-horsed our very slight 12-year-old, so we are now looking to downsize.
He is a lovely, genuine boy with plenty to offer. His real strong point is his flatwork and dressage, which he seems to genuinely enjoy. He works correctly and does a lovely dressage test. He has also been out show jumping, XC, farm rides, clinics and dressage competitions, so has plenty of experience as an all-rounder, but dressage is definitely where he shines.
He is an excellent hack, alone or in company, and his previous home used him to lead youngsters. Good in traffic and happy in open spaces.
Whilst he can be ridden by a child, he is not suitable for a novice. To get the best from him he needs a competent, confident rider.
He is good to handle in all ways and is up to date with farrier, dentist, vaccinations and worming.
He was bought with a small sarcoid on the inside of his hind leg, which he has had since he was young. His previous vets confirmed it had been checked, had never changed or grown and had never caused him any problems. Happy to discuss this fully with anyone genuinely interested. His old owner decided to leave it as it had never changed in the 5 years owned. Our plan was to also leave it alone but had been open to laser and discussed this at our vetting. The fact that it could be removed is reflected in his price. He was 5 stage vetted in June this year. No medical changes since. No injuries or issues.
He would make a lovely horse for someone wanting to focus on dressage while still enjoying hacking, clinics and a variety of other activities.
No rush to sell, priority is finding this lovely boy a lovely home. Due to work commitments he can be viewed with our instructor (number on advert) , but happy to chat with anyone seriously interested .
