“Martlet Speechless”, known at home as Cheetah, is a very exciting 7-year-old, 16.2hh gelding with the athleticism, scope and attitude to develop into a genuinely competitive horse. Home-bred in Co. Wexford, he was backed at four and has been produced slowly, allowing him time to strengthen, mature and understand his work. He is mannerly and straightforward on the ground and, under saddle, is intelligent, willing and exceptionally trainable. He learns quickly, retains his work and continues to progress whenever asked a new question. Cheetah has plenty of scope, is naturally careful and shows good athleticism and footwork. At this stage, 1.20m feels comfortably within his capabilities, with every indication that there is more to come. 

He has been introduced to water and smaller cross-country fences, proving genuine and willing, and is ready to continue his XC education. On the flat, he is developing a consistent, correct outline with improving balance, rhythm, transitions and responsiveness on both reins. He is schooled in a snaffle. He hacks happily alone or in company and is sensible in a busy yard environment. His pedigree is equally encouraging. His dam’s sire, Furisto, produced horses competing at the highest levels of showjumping and eventing, while his sire, King Cheetah, has offspring competing up to 1.50m showjumping and three-star eventing. Cheetah would suit an experienced rider looking for a quality young horse to produce through the levels. He is not a novice ride, but in the right hands we believe there is considerable potential. This is a very reluctant sale as our daughter is leaving Ireland for university in the UK. He is based at Moorelands, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, IRELAND and we are happy to accommodate serious viewings and vetting.
