Florence is an extremely well-bred mare by Sligo Candy Boy out of a mare by Cruising. With these names in her pedigree, she certainly has breeding worth shouting about — and with her lovely paces, scope and willing attitude, there is plenty to like about the mare herself too!
Produced steadily with her future in mind, Florence has been given time to develop without being rushed. She has all the right ingredients to make a fabulous quality all-rounder or event horse. Straightforward and forward-thinking, she enjoys her work and has so much to offer someone who wants to continue her education.
On the flat, Florence paints a very lovely picture. She works in a beautiful outline with three uphill, naturally balanced paces and plenty of presence. She has the makings of a very smart dressage test and is certainly the sort to catch the judge’s eye. If you enjoy your flatwork, there is plenty here to get excited about.
Her jumping has been brought on with the same patient approach. She is now confidently jumping courses of 80/90cm, showing scope to progress and a brave attitude towards fillers. She has also done a small amount of cross-country, giving her a foundation to build on. There is more experience to gain, but we think she could make a very smart eventing prospect.
Florence is fantastic to hack, both alone and in company. She is good in open spaces and has taken the small amount of village and farm traffic she has seen in her stride. A lovely mare to head out and enjoy, whether you have company or fancy a bit of peace and quiet!
On the ground, she is just as easy to like. Good to catch, load, shoe and clip, she has a wonderful nature and is straightforward to deal with. She is the sort who quietly works her way into everyone’s affections and quickly becomes a yard favourite — there may be a little competition over who gets to ride this one!
Florence has been in the same home since she was a foal, so this is a very sad sale for a genuine reason. A much-loved mare with a lovely foundation, plenty of talent and an exciting future ahead of her.
For sale on behalf of the owner, good home a must!
