Super Fun and Smart 13.2hh Welsh Section B – 16 years
Very sad sale of our much-loved Olly, who we have owned for 3½ years and is now sadly outgrown. Bought as a second pony for my then 8 year old daughter, Olly has been the making of her as a rider.
Olly is a fabulous second pony for a confident, young rider. He has taken my daughter from jumping 40cm to competing regularly at unaffiliated events, including qualifying for Hickstead, competing at Pony Club Regional Championships in both Show Jumping and dressage as well as Pony Club Mini Championships. Together they have enjoyed loads of hacking, show jumping, dressage, cross country, ODEs, arena eventing and four Pony Club camps.
A brilliant all-rounder, Olly has successfully competed in show jumping up to 80cm, however we feel Olly is happiest around 70cm. Olly has also succesully competed in dressage mostly PC70. He has lovely floating paces and produces a super dressage test. We feel he would excel at dressage with more work put in, we focussed more on SJ until recently. Olly is almost always in the ribbons at shows.
Olly is great to hack, alone or in company (prefers to be in front). He has a lovely temperament on the ground and is straightforward to have around. He is excellent in heavy traffic and not spooky. Olly is easy to catch, clip, load and travel, and good for the farrier and dentist. Up to date with vaccinations and has always been fit and healthy with us. Olly lives out (would also live in) and is fine with both mares and geldings.
Olly is not a first pony, he is forward going and although calm at home he sometimes throws a small excitable buck at a very busy competition (in the warm up). Never smaller local shows. And a couple of times when in an open space on a hack. This does not unseat my daughter and she laughs about it. But he therefore needs a confident jockey.
He has given my daughter an incredible amount of confidence, experience and fun, and we would love him to do the same for his next rider. He really has been the best pony we could have asked for to take my daughter to the next level. She loves him!
