Poppy is a 4 year old mare by Vivant van de heffinck, out of a tb mare.
She is very much a sporty type very athletic.
She hasn’t done loads due to her young age.
She was backed previously as a three year old and came to me looking very immature so gave her a good few months to mature her body a bit more before slowly bringing her back into work.
She has only been back in work for around 6 weeks so therefore is lacking a lot of muscle. I’ve done everything slowly with her not wanting to rush her. She is a sensitive type so is looking for a one to one rider and somebody sympathetic.
She can be quite spooky but is never silly.
Good to hack, can lead or follow behind. However have no hacked her fully on her own, I have taken her for walks around my fields to cool down on her own and she was happy to do so.
Her ground manners are absolutely impeccable and cannot fault them. She will back up for food, stand nicely tied up without a haynet. Children can lead her to and from the field.
Schooling, she is still very very green and is currently just doing basics, helping her get stronger. She will go into contact but also can occasionally go behind the vertical but this is just due to her young age. She’s got very comfortable movements and is very easy to sit to. I have jumped her small under saddle but has just bigger loose jumping.
Loose schooling her she can jump about 1.20 comfortably.
Shes seen xc jumps and was not bothered by them at all. She is very bold when it comes to jumping.
I do think she’ll make a great event horse, but would happily excel in showjumping too.
No novices as she is not for a novice rider. She needs someone knowledgeable to produce her correctly and properly.
She will pick up all four feet nicely
She’s good for dentist (doesn’t need sedation)
She’s good for farrier. My farrier does her completely on his own when I cannot be there.
