Tommy is our absolutely stunning 5 year old piebald gelding. He stands at approximately 14.2hh and is still bum high with more growing left to do.
He’s a lovely wide chunk of a cob who loves lots of fuss and attention, always the first over in the field. He’s very quiet to handle and has excellent stable manners, a pleasure to have around. He’s is happy to turn out in a mixed heard and will happily stable over night.
Tommy was backed by me as a 3 year old and spent the past 2 years mainly as a happy hacker with a mature rider where he has seen all kinds of traffic and farm animals whilst out hacking.
Unfortunately due to her illness he has come back to me this Summer. We’ve had him schooling nicely and he will pop a course of jumps. He’s also been out hunting, proving brave and bold over ditches, XC style jumps, logs and tyres. He could easily do pony or riding club type activities with a little bit more experience. He’s still green and can throw in an odd buck when he’s asked to canter or feeling a bit unbalanced on a corner but nothing nasty or unseating. The more times he’s been in the school the less he’s done this and he doesn’t do it hacking. I think he will stop altogether once he’s got a bit more balance. He’s also had my novice husband on bobbing around in the school and looks after him.
Tommy is CHAPS registered, having lovely confirmation and movement he has the potential to make a head turning show cob. He is up to date with his vaccinations, teeth, worming and feet. He comes with his saddle and bridle and is ready to find his new best friend. We did consider keeping him as he is so lovely but we have our second baby due imminently and think it would be a shame for him to end up a field ornament while I recover and get back riding. He’s currently been ridden by my friend 3 or 4 times a week and I do ground work over poles and on the Pessoa on the other days.
I have an arena with jumps at home and nice easy local hacking so he can be seen doing a bit of everything on viewing
