Pepsi – 16.1hh, 17-year-old Selle Français x mare – £8,000 ono

Pepsi is a beautiful mare with exquisite manners and is an absolute pleasure to own. She has been owned and ridden for the last three years by my daughter who was 14 when they started together. Pepsi has done everything over the last 3 years but her heart lies very much in hunting. Although 17 she is in perfect health and exceptional shape and feels much more like a 9 year old!

After her show jumping career, Pepsi hunted five seasons in big country followed by three seasons trail hunting. She loves being out with hounds and has impeccable manners in the field. She is a big, strong, forward-going mare who likes to be up and going but is polite enough to wait her turn. She is an extremely talented jumper with real power and scope. Hunting is where her heart is but she does a very lovely dressage test and loves a hunter trial! We have never team chased her but think she would be brilliant.

She is extremely easy to keep and can be turned out alone or in a mixed herd. She quietly avoids trouble and is a genuinely kind horse. She has been cherished for the last 3 years and is up to date with all physio/dental/saddler appts. She has the most amazing feet and is a delight for the farrier.

With A Levels and university approaching next year it is time to start the search for Pepsis new home. She has been hound exercising and autumn hunting this season and is extremely fit and ready to go come Opening meet. She is brilliant to hack and unflappable in traffic and hacks down a busy road most days. She can be ridden as much or as little as necessary and doesn’t change her behaviour.

We are in no particular rush but wanted to start the search and she will continue hunting until the right home is found.

Offered with her full wardrobe including all rugs and tack including saddle.
