Breeding Yerbero X Regalado v ( full photo of breeding in pics)
Lovely PRE mare who will be an asset to any Spanish horse enthusiast or stud looking to breed the rare bloodline.
Berry has been imported from Spain by her Spanish PRE enthusiast owner who bred her, he imported her over with a view to breeding here but work commitments and life has got in the way and she is still a maiden mare. Her dam Cancionera was born in the stud Balmaseda de Ahumada, her ancestors came from the stud Romero Benitez ( Mercedes Benz inverted star ) this one is a very famous stud.
Her dad Yerbero wan the world functionality Sicab awards in 2012, 2013 and 2014 roughly and was second in morphology. Her dad’s stud was Sanchez Barbudo very famous one he got a lot of functionality awards (movements)Her owner is a vet and was the vet he used for breeding and that’s why her owner was allowed to use his best horse Yerbero. Yerbero himself is a Grand Prix dressage stallion and very popular.
She has been on loan to a local rider for the past year who has been enjoying her doing lots of hacking. Berry is green in the school but willing to ride, she hasn’t had hours of schooling as has mainly hacked, but she is willing to please and will go through her paces obediently.
She is a forward thinking ride but apart from being a bit looky and loosing concentration when schooling does no wrong, she’s the type that needs a decent warm up to get the best out of her and is the type that is better with a one on one relationship with her rider, she has taken a while with us to realise she can stretch over her back but is now coming on very well.
Out and about she’s brave and loves her hacking, both alone and in company. She’s good in traffic and has met larger vehicles, tractors etc with no fuss. We have done lots of hacking with her also, including riding to the pub which she took all in her stride. Berry will continue to give someone lots of fun out hacking but equally if her next owner puts the work in she will go and do a bit more, she’s just not the finished article yet.
As you would expect with a PRE she is tough, sound and happy to live in or out. She’s good to handle, box, catch, shoe, clip etc. Berry has got typical Spanish horse skin and suffers with sweet itch so needs a bit more care in summer.
Seen at livery.
