Currently 15h, 4 years old and a registered Connemara gelding this stunning chap has a ton of potential.
Just backed in the last month or so after arriving from Ireland, Razzle has been very much enjoying hacking out, seeing the sights and learning what life is all about.
He always has a smile on his face with his work, he stands like an absolute saint at the mounting block every time and waits happily while you sort your pedals and knitting out, he leads the way very happily out hacking or doodles along behind and doesn’t even flick an ear when he is upsides another horse. He’s very happy to wait around patiently while you have a chat with the neighbours in the sunshine out on your hack, he had his very first canter under saddle the other day and behaved impeccably. He doesn’t over react if his friend gets a bit ahead of him, he just carries on his steady yet still forward thinking way!
One of his videos is of him having a jolly around the arena away from home (and having his first go over a few poles on the ground!) for the first time where he behaved impeccably with no spookiness whatsoever after hanging around patiently waiting while I did videos of his pal.
Videos are available from the very start of his education here with us, Razzle works well on the long reins, even in an open field, he rides and leads well, he was perfect for the farrier to have his feet trimmed and he is great to catch and lead in from the field, either on his own or with another one. He doesn’t mind one bit if you turn all his friends out and leave him on his own on the yard or if you bring his friends in and leave him in the field on his own.
Razzle is an incredibly smart, sporty type of a Connemara with three correct, expressive paces, his canter eats up the ground and he has all the potential to be a top class all rounder for an experienced rider to bring on to do BE/BD/RC/Cotswold Cup.
Obviously he’s green (he is allowed to be, he has just started his education) but he gives you a lovely secure feeling, is not at all strong or sharp under saddle, he has absolutely not a bad bone in his body and is more push than whoosh while still being responsive.
Razzle is happy living in or out, follows you round the field while you poo pick, ties up patiently on the yard for a groom and to tack up and loves a cuddle. He is a young man who likes to trust his human so a new partner with a sympathetic, confident and gentle hand is his ideal.
With all the basics of education in place without having rushed him (he’s had no gadgets on him nor has he been reeled into an unnecessary frame while his bones are developing) he’s the perfect blank canvas for someone to very much enjoy bringing on and getting to know and love him.
