An eye-catching mare with exceptional talent, a superb temperament, and outstanding breeding.
By the Hanoverian stallion Talisman, whose pedigree includes some of the most influential modern dressage bloodlines, including Totilas and Sandro Hit. Her dam is equally well bred by Dancier. Thea’s breeding combines athleticism, rideability, temperament, and expressive movement, making her not only a competitive riding horse but also an exciting prospect for a dressage-focused breeding programme.
In her previous home, Thea successfully competed at numerous unaffiliated and para dressage competitions. She is a straightforward, willing ride with a kind attitude and no sharp or silly behaviour.
More recently, Thea has been competing under British Dressage, consistently achieving high-60% to low-70% scores with excellent judge feedback, particularly praising her elevated paces, rideability, and straightness. She already holds her Regional qualification scores at both Prelim and Novice level.
Thea is excellent to hack both alone and in company. She is well accustomed to farm and village traffic, remains sensible in open spaces, and has even enjoyed a pub ride, happily standing patiently while her rider enjoyed a glass of fizz.
On the ground, Thea is a pleasure to handle — good to catch, clip, and shoe, with a genuinely affectionate nature. She is not mareish, enjoys attention, and does not require intensive daily work to remain settled and enjoyable.
In the interest of full transparency, Thea can weave when feeling anxious, particularly when settling into a new environment, although she has not weaved with us for some time. When she first arrived, she was weak behind, and as part of her strengthening programme we elected to medicate her hocks. She has strengthened considerably since and is working very well, though some sympathetic management may be beneficial going forward. Her price reflects these considerations.
A rare opportunity to purchase a mare of this quality, temperament, and breeding without the champagne price tag.
