This is a very difficult and genuine sale, and one we are making with an incredibly heavy heart.
We are looking for a new, loving home for our much-loved boy Berrie, a 16hh, 9-year-old Thoroughbred gelding. We have owned Berrie for the past three years, and during that time he has been an absolute sweetheart. He has always looked after us and has been a truly special horse to our family.
We have mainly hacked Berrie during the time we have owned him. We know that Berrie has previously enjoyed jumping, fun rides and other activities, and we believe he would really thrive with someone who can give him a job and keep his intelligent mind occupied.
He is currently kept at home with a pony companion. When hacking alone, he is a real plodder and can lack enthusiasm. He is great in traffic and a very sensible horse, super safe and sweet.
Berrie is a very intelligent horse who learns quickly and has so much potential for the right person. He is good to shoe, box and catch, and has a lovely temperament.
He has also recently been vetted for rehoming and given a clean bill of health, and is now ready for his next chapter and a new adventure.
Sadly, with our daughter due to start college, she no longer has the time that Berrie deserves. After a lot of thought, and despite all the love and care we have given him, we have had to accept that we simply cannot provide him with the life and work he needs to truly be happy.
This is an extremely difficult decision, but Berrie’s future and happiness have to come first.
We genuinely believe that someone will be incredibly lucky to own this special boy. He deserves a loving, experienced home where he can have a purpose, continue learning and enjoy everything life has to offer.
