Arthur’s pedigree combines two of the most famous Connemara stallions in the world- and it shows!
Arthur is a 14.2h, rising 5yo, dapple grey purebred Connemara with all Class 1 breeding and a fantastic, consistent technique over fences
Arthur’s grandsire is the famous Silver Shadow, and his damsire is Gwennic de Goariva; this shows in his scope, level-headed personality, and perfect confirmation
He is a compact, light, athletic showjumping pony with a careful jump and elastic bascule over each fence
He was purchased off his breeder as a 2yo and produced slowly and correctly by our team
Arthur is very brave and honest to jump anywhere, he enjoys cross country and has no issue with water, ditches, coffins, drains etc.
Arthur is easygoing and calm in new environments, he loves going schooling and enjoys the challenge of new jumps and fillers
Arthur always goes in a loose ring snaffle; he is never strong. Very light and easy to ride in the contact and hold before and after the jump
He has a comfortable, uphill canter that is adjustable to ride around a course
Arthur is slightly ‘more go than woah’ without being hot, fast, or nervous. He requires very little leg to stay going, and is unphased by a bad distance or a rider mistake
Arthur hacks quietly alone or in company and is well-behaved in traffic, around machinery and cows
We believe that Arthur has a very serious career ahead of him as a children’s showjumping or pony club pony. He has an adorable, kind-hearted nature, plenty of scope, and a genuine, honest ride in new places.
We do feel that due to his athletic nature and careful jump, Arthur would best suit a child working with a coach and already competing in 80cm classes, a teen looking for a talented pony to bring up the levels, or a riding school with advanced students hoping to jump courses.
He is extremely gentle and sensible on the ground; anyone can handle, catch, shoe, load, tie, plait, etc.
