Roger is a purebred Connemara with all class 1 breeding, his Sire is Slackport Prince.

Slackport Prince won the Supreme Championship and the Jan Harald Koelichen Cup in 2018, he was the fourteenth stallion to do so since the cup was first presented in 1965.It has been won by mares on 39 occasions. So, the mares win it 3;1. Slackport Prince is unique in that he is THE ONLY STALLION to win whose sire has also won it. Gurteen Cathal (Kevin Bolger) won the trophy in 2013.

I love you Melody, who has passed away in 2022 covered on average 70 to 80 mares per year and he remains a much sought-after performance stallion. He currently has more than 100 offspring registered with Showjumping Ireland, almost 20 of whom are grade A.
