Charlie: experienced, straightforward, polite SJ or working hunter

  • A true gentleman in every regard
  • An amateur friendly allrounder

  • Connemara
  • Bright bay

  • Easy to ride, extremely honest and scopey
  • A true gentleman in every regard
  • An amateur friendly allrounder

Charlie is a 15.2h 5yo bay purebred Connemara gelding with extensive competition experience in prelim level dressage, novice eventing, and 90cm showjumping classes with excellent results. He has hunted with a child several times, hacking and charity rides. He is careful, brave and honest without ever getting hot or sharp in a show environment

Charlie has jumped with us up to 110 and shows scope for much more. He has no issue making horse strides through one-stride and double combinations at shows, and we think he has potential to become a 120 horse with fitness.

Charlie loves cross country schooling and remains unphased by all obstacles; for this reason we know he’d love a career as a working hunter.

Charlie is very slightly ‘more go than woah’ when jumping without ever being strong, hot, or intimidating for an amateur to manage. He is very careful and honest to jump, and for this reason we think he’d be a fabulous competitive partner for someone confidently jumping small 80s courses who is hoping to find a confidence-building horse, with a comfortable size and ability to bring them to the next level.

On the flat, Charlie stays under the leg with very little help from the rider. He is easy to ride in the contact and always goes in a snaffle. He has been ridden by a 13yo boy and his 9yo brother.

Charlie is well behaved for hacking, alone or with others. He is easy to catch, load, bathe, tie, shoe, etc.

He has no vices of any kind, and has a very sweet and polite personality. He enjoys knowing who his person is, and will do anything they ask.

He is open to any vetting, price includes delivery to UK. Exchange if you are not happy.

Rosie: sensible, gentle, experienced ponyclub dream

Ref #: 411213
  • Competitive, quiet, very brave
£8,500
  • Connemara
  • Dapple grey
  • Mare
  • 4 years
  • 14.1 hands
  • Competitive, quiet, very brave

Rosie is a 14.1h, 4yo dapple grey purebred Connemara mare with a forgiving, quiet temperament

She has been comfortably competing in 80cm classes at showjumping competitions and is consistently honest and unphased by new places, filler, combinations, etc. She is extremely forgiving to a bad distance and will always jump; she is even clever enough to sort a bad distance for herself and her rider!

She knows her leads and will make auto changes during a course. She never gets hot, strong or sharp. She has a very soft mouth, and only goes in a loose ring snaffle

She is very easy to ride in the contact, although she is quiet, not spooky or fast, and does not require it to focus.

Rosie enjoys cross country schooling and is equally brave to natural obstacles and water. She does not get excited or fresh outside of the arena.

Rosie is excellent around machinery, traffic and cows, and has experience hacking alone and in groups.

She is not lazy or particularly forward going, she is very easy to keep at one rhythm as she is hard-working, and happy to stay right under the leg.

Due to her intelligent, quiet nature and rideability, we think Rosie will be an ideal partner for ponyclub, or for a child to compete and grow with. She is consistent and calm in her work ethic, and would best suit a child who is comfortably cantering small x-rails to grow with, with the help of an instructor.

She is gentle and sweet for anyone to handle; quiet to shoe, load, tie, catch, bathe, etc. She has no vices, no mareish behaviour, and no lumps or bumps of any kind.

Rosie is open to any vetting

  • 4 years
  • 15.1 hands
  • He has perfect confirmation and beautiful, uphill paces
  • He has natural flying changes
  • Adam is honest for small cross country jumps

Adam a unique-looking head turner with a seriously powerful jump and adorable, ‘in-your-pocket’ personality

Adam is a 15.1h 4yo purebred Connemara gelding who has already competed at training shows with us

He has perfect confirmation and beautiful, uphill paces, allowing him to have incredible scope over fences, and balanced, adjustable flatwork for dressage

He has natural flying changes, a soft snaffle mouth, and a focused attitude even when schooling alone in open spaces

He enjoys horse showing, and gives 110% effort over every fence. Because his technique is consistently very careful and he has a powerful hind end over the jump, we feel he is best suited to a rider with experience producing showjumpers.

Adam is honest for small cross country jumps, and has no issue with water. He does have a very careful style, which is why our rider feels he enjoys showjumping more.

He is the first to greet our staff in the field every morning, and extraordinarily outgoing and friendly for his age. He has an adorable, cheerful personality, with his ears always forward.
