Connemara X Welsh

Trooper is a super star pony, he has flashy and established paces on the flat in walk, trot and canter with flying changes. His paces are uphill and balanced. Trooper has a very stylish and proven jump with plenty of scope to move up through the levels in unaffiliated or junior British Showjumping classes.

He will also trot a pop jumps without getting silly.

Trooper would excel in the British showjumping ring and be very competitive at Novice 80cm, Discovery 90cm and Newcomer 1mlevel.

He has jumped NSEA Schools Team competition for Arena Eventing as well as mini ODE in 70cm and 80cm, and would be a real contender for bigger cross country fences with his new rider if that is their goal.
Trooper has also hunter with his young rider. He is super brave and confident throughout the hunt with scope over the bigger hedges. He is sensible to lead or follow with plenty of brakes to stop and start during the hunt.

As well as hunting Trooper hacks very well alone and in company, in busy traffic or open fields and countryside. Never silly and not fussed by farm machinery.

Trooper is a forward going pony but has established aids and great lateral work. He is confident and loves his job and would excel with a confident and fun child, teen or small adult wanting to win or just have a good time. He thrives off being worked and going to competitions, but would also really suit a busy pony club or hunting home, unfortunately his current home can't offer enough time and consistency during the week to excel him.

Trooper has lived out 24/7 all year round or can be stabled too and will slot in really nicely to a yard routine. Can be turned out individually or in a herd. He is a good boy on the ground to tack up, bath and fuss with. Good with the farrier and vets and to load.

He's a lovely sweet chap with loads of talent, and a very bright future ahead of him. I have lots of photos and video available. Very genuine reason for sale and not a decision we have taken lightly.

Printers Dragon - From the Stockham Welsh pony line (Stockham Count All Gold) 16yr old, full up 128cm Welsh B with full JMB height cert. Measures 13hh on our stick and takes up the leg.

In a previous home he jumped BS (BS no 420010) up to 1m, competed at WHP, successfully evented and competed at BD. In the last two homes he has stepped down for less capable children, to compete at lower heights.

He has so much quality, is a forward competition pony and needs a capable established little jockey who can keep him between hand and leg.

He has lots of gears and will pootle around in our arena at home very quietly if asked, but is more forward when competing.

He is schooled weekly on the flat by a BD coach, who feels confident that he could excel through the BD youth levels and or show as a quality WHP. My daughter sadly has absolutely no interest in this, so we haven’t pursued it.

He has attend Wylye Valley pony club camps, rallies and won many unaffiliated and PC SJ comps, qualifying for bicton mini champs 2024. Has been around lower level Tetrathlon courses, with us, but he can get very forward XC.

Amazing to handle, he is like a big Labrador, box, shoe, clip, catch, dress up, paint and have around. He has been hacked out by my then 5yr old and is 100% in traffic. He has also politely pottered lead rein children over x pole courses, so he could suit a family with a range of children.

He had a back procedure in autumn 2024. Which I am happy to discuss and share full details of. He has been professionally rehabbed with regular physio who is happy to talk to any perspective buyer. He is open to any vetting and is fit and ready to compete this season.

Very good looking straight mover, snaffle mouth.

Chico has been a pleasure to produce slowly and carefully, having bought from Ireland as a 4yo.

He has done UA SJ 70-80cm, also stay away shows. Dressage competitions, XC schooling, fun rides.

He does everything in a snaffle. Very easy to get in an outline.

Lovely balanced canter. Has been competed by a 12yo girl.

Hacks out in company. Good in traffic. 

Chico is easy to handle, good to load, clip and shoe.

Never grumpy. Chico is looking for his forever home and would make a lovely PC pony.

Due to his age he is not for a complete novice rider.

He is happy to live in or out. Up to date with vaccinations.
