With only 7 boxes and long standing team of like minded professionals, we can ensure that your horse receives excellent one to one care, with attention to detail being our main priority. You can also ensure that your horse will be ridden and trained by Anna herself, thanks to keeping the yard on a smaller basis - no apprentices trying to learn the trade from your horse here!

The Ilkeston Stud currently has a small number of livery spaces available at our friendly, professional yard near Liskeard, Cornwall.

We welcome a variety of horses and owners, from those simply looking for excellent day-to-day care and support through to horses requiring further training, competition experience or professional preparation for sale.

Our aim is simple — happy, well-managed horses, individual care and a programme that works for both horse and owner.

Designed for owners who want their horse professionally prepared, supported and competed. This may include regular schooling, fitness work, competition preparation, travelling, warm-up and riding at competitions, as well as ongoing assessment and development. Programmes are tailored to each horse’s ability, experience and goals, whether working towards dressage, affiliated or unaffiliated competitions, or gaining confidence away from home.

Sales Livery

A complete service for owners who would like their horse professionally prepared, presented and marketed. Horses are assessed and produced appropriately before being advertised, with viewings and the sales process managed on the owner’s behalf.

Facilities & Training

Our facilities include all weather ménage, excellent hacking on and off road, all-year turnout, wash facilities with hot water, secure tack storage and herd / individual recovery turnout.

Training includes working with International trainers and we regularly utilise arena hires, clinics and competition venues to give horses valuable experience away from home.

We specialise particularly in dressage and producing horses correctly and sympathetically, with horses on the yard ranging from youngsters and leisure horses through to established competition horses.

Professional Competition & Training Livery at Birchen Oak, Devon

Birchen Oak currently has limited availability for horses to join international showjumper and UKCC Level 2 coach Elliott Smith.

Elliott has competed internationally at prestigious shows including Hong Kong, London International and Dublin, and has extensive experience producing horses from young horses through to top-level competition.

We are particularly looking to work with ambitious owners and quality horses requiring professional production, competition riding or a structured training programme.

Owners are encouraged to be involved in their horse’s progress, with regular communication, videos and coaching available.
