Q: How do I place an advert?
A: There are three simple ways to place an advert.
1. Online through the simple and easy to use Step by Step System. You will just need to create a HorseQuest account – which is totally free of charge and only takes two minutes. Once you have placed your advert and completed payment, you will receive a confirmation email containing a copy of your invoice. Your advert will go live once it has been checked and authorised by the HorseQuest team.
2. Email your advert directly to email@example.com. Send you text, images and videos straight to the team. Please remember to include your contact details so we can get in touch to arrange payment. This can be made via credit or debit card over the phone or we can send you a PayPal invoice. Please note your advert will not go live prior to payment being received.
3. Phone or WhatsApp - give the team a call in the office to dictate your advert on 01608 819000, or send your advert via WhatsApp to 07516 977082. This service is available between office hours from Monday to Friday.
Q: How much does it cost to advertise?
A: A standard advert for one horse is just £36.00.
Our pricing is unique for different listings e.g. transport, breeding etc. You can also choose from a range of optional upgrades for your advert. For a full list of pricing visit our Advertising Info page.
Q. How long will my advert be online?
A: Adverts are online for 6 weeks from the date it goes live
Q. How do I pay for my advert?
A: By phone, credit / debit card or PayPal
There are multiple ways you can pay for your advert – whatever suits you best. When placing adverts online and you will be able to pay via our secure online payment system or via PayPal. Alternatively, adverts can be paid for using a credit / debit card over the telephone within office hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5.30pm) or we can send you a PayPal invoice. Please note your advert will not go live prior to payment being received, and no adverts will appear online before being approved by the HorseQuest team
Q. I’ve paid for my advert, but it hasn’t gone live yet?
A: Every advert requires HorseQuest approval
Adverts must be checked and authorised by the HorseQuest team before they go live. This ensures your advert looks it’s best and also allows us to filter out any inappropriate items, thereby ensuring that we maintain the high standards for which HorseQuest is known.
Q. Can I swap / add photos to my advert?
You can replace a photo at any time free of charge. You can do this via your HorseQuest account or email/WhatsApp the replacement picture along with your advert reference (which can be found in the top right-hand corner of your advert) to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also add extra photos to your advert at a cost of £5 each.
Q. How do I make changes to my advert or mark my advert as sold?
A: ‘My HorseQuest’
My HorseQuest is the area in which you can manage your adverts, also known as your HorseQuest account. Here you can change your contact details, the price, photo and mark adverts as sold. Changes to your advert text will need to be made by the HorseQuest team, so it’s best to email theses and your advert reference number to email@example.com. Alternatively give the team a call on 01608 819000 – please have your advert reference number (can be found the top right corner of the advert) or the telephone number that appears on your advert to hand.
Q. How can I renew my advert?
A: Online, email, or by phone
Adverts can be renewed at any time through your HorseQuest account. Alternatively, you can pop us an email or WhatsApp or give us a call. You will be sent a reminder email a few days before the advert is due to expire. All adverts up to a year old will remain in your HorseQuest ‘Manage Adverts’ section and can be renewed at any time. Please note renewed adverts must be for the same horse or item. New horses / items must be placed on a new advert.
Top Tip! Now’s the perfect time to freshen up your advert, which can be done by changing photos, editing text or adding a video. If you need any advice regarding your advert don’t hesitate to give us a call on 01608 819000
Q. What are the different advertising upgrade options?
Answer: We offer Premier & Leader Upgrades and Single or Multi-Refresh packages
If you would like to give your advert a boost, you can choose from one of our popular upgrades.
Premier – your advert appears on the front page of your chosen section (e.g. Eventers) for 7 days, and also receives a boost back to the top of the listings in all categories. This is priced at £16.00.
Leader – your advert appears in the thumbnail banners at the top of your chosen section for 7 days. This is priced at £7.50.
Refresh – your advert is boosted back to the top of the listings in all categories where it is listed. This is priced at £5.00. If you book our Refresh Bundle, your advert is automatically boosted back to the top every week for the duration of your advertising (at a reduced rate of £3.75 per refresh - £18.50 for the bundle.)
You can book an upgrade for your advert via ‘My HorseQuest’ or simply get in touch with the team quoting your advert reference.
Q. How do I find the horses and ponies for sale?
Answer: You’re in the right place!
You can use the main purple navigation menu to select the section you would like to browse e.g. Horses. Click on any of the options and the drop down menu will appear and you will be able to select a category e.g. Allrounders. This will take you to an introduction page which typically contains up to 10 premier adverts, and includes a sub category navigation in the purple bar at the top of the page. You can use this sub category navigation to then browse all adverts in that section.
Should you wish to refine your criteria to narrow your search e.g. height, age, you may prefer to use our search feature here: Advanced Search
We recommend browsing the categories when you have a bit more time to spare, to ensure you don’t miss out on the perfect advert! But the search facility can be handy when you’re in a rush or want to check new listings.
You can also save these search criteria as an email alert, to have the latest adverts delivered to your inbox on a daily or weekly basis. You’ll find this feature in ‘My HorseQuest’ under ‘Email Alerts.’
