Preferably a gelding but if the perfect mare came along would definitely consider it. My son who is 6 is just coming off the lead rope and loves riding as well as looking after a pony. He doesn’t need speed yet (thankfully) more laid back but not dead to the leg. The relationship on the ground is so important to him too as he spends his spare time on the ground with the ponies. So a pony that likes to be pampered and is polite. He will do starter pony camp this year, he has a fantastic teacher who comes to our home.
