4 Event Horse Wanted*

I’m currently looking for my next event horse, either an established 4* horse or one with the quality and potential to progress to 4* level next season.

I’m open-minded regarding quirks or horses that require careful management, provided they have the ability and scope for the job.

I’m an experienced rider and have produced my own horse through to 4*level, as well as producing numerous horses to 3* level, so I’m very happy to consider something that still needs producing or developing.

I’m 6’1” with a slim build, so ideally looking for a horse that would suit a taller rider.

Please get in touch if you have anything suitable, including horses that may not yet be advertised.

Bunny is a genuine, kind and very un-mareish mare who really does her best to help her rider.

She has only had two homes in her life - initially professionally produced to novice level eventing as a 6 year old while still owned by her breeder (including jumping clear xc as a 5 yr old at Osberton International. She also hunted and showjumped unaffiliated during these years.

For the last 3 years, Bunny has been with a very amateur owner where she has done a bit of everything, helping her rider both eventing and showjumping. Naturally quick against the clock she has been a rosette machine up to 1m and is currently placing and jumping confidently at newcomers (110/115cm) with plenty of ability for more to offer her rider in the future. There are a couple of very man-made errors on her record which we are very happy to talk through! Loves her cross country and is confident and competent across all obstacles/ditches/water.

Very good to hack alone and in company she is also good to lead another horse/pony from. Travels alone, and doesn't stress if another is taken away from her at a competition. Has been used in the past to lead ponies from out hunting.

Good to clip, shoe and load, she is a really lovely horse to have in the yard - also loves a cuddle!

Please do call for more info - my phone screen is currently broken so I am unable to read/answer text messages.

• Championship prospect with exceptional performance breeding
• Da Capo Z (Dominator Z) x Corriebeg Cosmos (Royaldik x Master Imp)
• Young rider medallist prospect

5-year-old Mare · 15.2hh · Expected to make approx. 16hh

“Ellie” is an outstanding young athlete with all the attributes of a championship horse.

By Da Capo Z (Dominator Z), she combines serious athleticism with a highly intelligent, trainable mind. Her damline brings proven substance to match — she is out of Corriebeg Cosmos, by Royaldik and out of Hedonist, by Master Imp. Hedonist was Irish U25 National Eventing Champion and represented Ireland at the European Championships, adding proven championship performance to an exceptional pedigree.

Slowly and carefully produced, Ellie is now ready to begin her competitive career. She rides beautifully in all three phases, in a plain snaffle, with three elegant and athletic paces.

She is bold, confident and careful over fences, with an impressive cantaer and considerable scope. Her natural athleticism, combined with an intelligent and trainable attitude, makes her an exciting prospect for someone looking to produce a horse through the levels.

A particularly exciting opportunity for a small professional looking for a young horse with the potential to be highly competitive as she progresses through the levels.

Only the very best of homes will be considered for this special mare.

• Excelling at groundwork and progressing easily. Working well on both reins, has good transitions.
• A gentleman on the ground. Happy hacking out alone or with company on country roads and trails.
• He is very athletic. We have jumped him to 115. There is lots more. He has tons of scope.

“Martlet Speechless”, known at home as Cheetah, is a very exciting 7-year-old, 16.2hh gelding with the athleticism, scope and attitude to develop into a genuinely competitive horse. Home-bred in Co. Wexford, he was backed at four and has been produced slowly, allowing him time to strengthen, mature and understand his work. He is mannerly and straightforward on the ground and, under saddle, is intelligent, willing and exceptionally trainable. He learns quickly, retains his work and continues to progress whenever asked a new question. Cheetah has plenty of scope, is naturally careful and shows good athleticism and footwork. At this stage, 1.20m feels comfortably within his capabilities, with every indication that there is more to come.

He has been introduced to water and smaller cross-country fences, proving genuine and willing, and is ready to continue his XC education. On the flat, he is developing a consistent, correct outline with improving balance, rhythm, transitions and responsiveness on both reins. He is schooled in a snaffle. He hacks happily alone or in company and is sensible in a busy yard environment. His pedigree is equally encouraging. His dam’s sire, Furisto, produced horses competing at the highest levels of showjumping and eventing, while his sire, King Cheetah, has offspring competing up to 1.50m showjumping and three-star eventing. Cheetah would suit an experienced rider looking for a quality young horse to produce through the levels. He is not a novice ride, but in the right hands we believe there is considerable potential. This is a very reluctant sale as our daughter is leaving Ireland for university in the UK. He is based at Moorelands, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim, IRELAND and we are happy to accommodate serious viewings and vetting.
