We are looking to find a hacking home for lovely Tan who was bought by his current owner as a 3 year old as a jumping prospect. Sadly due to some inflammation in his knee, he is not fit for the purpose of this job, however he has responded really well to treatment and is absolutely fit and sound enough for hacking which he is currently enjoying regularly. He is great in traffic, has been over motorway bridges and will hack alone or in company. His price reflects the issue with his knee and full vet history can be provided.

Although Tan is a very good boy he is still a young sports horse so does need a fairly confident rider. He is a kind horse but can be a bit adhd to handle from the ground. He is good to lead but is playful when he is tied up and will pick things up around him if he can get away with it.

Currently mainly ridden by a non professional gentleman rider but has also had some training with a young event rider.

April is a beautiful 6-year-old mare, standing at approximately 15hh. Born and bred here on the farm, she has been carefully produced and is a much-loved member of our team.

She is easy to catch, shoe, bath etc and is a kind, easy horse to handle and have around.

She has spent the last three seasons working in our trekking centre. During her first two seasons, she was mainly used as a back guide’s horse and this year she has truly come into her own - confidently carrying riders of all abilities, from complete beginners to more experienced riders. She is happy travelling in the middle or at the back of a ride and is gaining confidence leading from the front.

She is very laid back for a 6 year old, she is excellent in traffic, around farm machinery and has proven herself to be a safe, genuine and reliable horse.

Although most of her experience has been gained through hacking, she is schooling nicely, has shown promise over small jumps and is quick to learn.

April currently lives happily in a large mixed herd. We believe she has plenty of potential and, in the right home, could go on to excel in a variety of disciplines.

This is a very difficult sale, and she is only available due to the closure of our trekking centre and reduction in stock. We would love to see her find a knowledgeable, loving home where she can continue to thrive and reach her full potential.

Looking for a confident, competent new owner to enjoy hacking adventures and maybe endurance rides. She doesn’t like schooling and isn't much of a jumper, she just really enjoys hacking out. I ride out on my own most of the time but on her own she can be a bit looky/twitchy (puddles, pigeons etc) and does occasionally whip round if something startles her. She looks to her rider for quiet confidence. Her rider must know when to give her a moment to process and when to encourage her forward.

If you want/need to hack out on your own and this is a problem, then she isn’t the horse for you. That said, she is fabulous in company. She won’t lead but will happily follow. She goes when you ask and stops when you ask (always in a snaffle) with the lightest of aids, isn’t lit up by other horses misbehaving, doesn’t nap if we see or pass other horses, will come away from the group if needed and doesn’t buck, rear or bolt. She is more contented in company, and I would say she would be suitable for more people if you plan to always ride in company as you don’t get most of the reactive moments, just all the fun. Group hacking is her forte, she’s an absolute delight. Doesn't need to be worked every day.

She’s a sensitive, sweet, polite, cuddly mare. She’s good to catch and turn out, bath, good for the vet including jabs, farrier, physio etc. She’s up to date worm count, teeth, jabs. Lives in or out. Currently shod in front and enjoying it with the dry summer we’ve had (most of my hacking involves uneven stone tracks) but she has also been barefoot with me using hoof boots in front for hacking and that worked too in previous years. She’s ticklish to clip. I manage slowly with small, quiet clippers but others may prefer to simply sedate and crack on. She hasn’t been travelled much in the years I’ve had her, just a couple of yard moves and a farm ride. For those journeys she went in a trailer and a 3.5T and travelled well. She does like to take a few minutes on the ramp to check things out then she goes in.

I think a lot of this mare and I’m happy to answer all questions fully to ensure she ends up in the best of new homes with someone who will enjoy her as I have.

It goes on a bit but I didn’t want to put forward a carefully edited brief clip so I just let it run on record so you could see a section of our ride.

Just passed 5 stage vetting last month.

Dora is the most sweet natured and kind horse. She is a real good-doer.

Dora is a lovely all rounder horse. Great to hack alone and in company. Dora is more woah than go, and requires her rider to push her forward. She is coming along nicely, but is still a little green in the school.

She has started jumping, and is showing real potential and scope. Great on fun rides and out XC.

She would make a lovely all rounder for a mother/daughter share or older lady. Very safe and sensible to hack alone or in company.

She has been out hunting and to dressage/sj shows where she behaved impeccably.

Dora does not like needles and has to be twitched. Minor medical history to be disclosed to potential buyers (will not show up in a vetting and has no lasting effects).
