This very exciting young horse has all the blood, paces and bloodlines to make a top level event horse, or showjumping with his jumping lines and top quality dam.

His dam evented successfully at 4* level, with a superb jump.

He has over 50% blood, an excellent brain, very kind horse with a lovely attitude in and out of the stable, has been very easy to break in, taken slowly with the future in mind so has not been loose jumped over huge fences, produced correctly and slowly.

Owner knew the dam when she was eventing, so jumped at the chance to buy this horse as a yearling to be a future top level prospect, but sadly has had to step away from horses, hence this very sad sale.

He was backed and turned away earlier this year, and has just come back in to continue his education, proving to be a super trainable, top level prospect.

Spartan is an outstanding home bred Friesian Sports Horse colt.

His father was a registered 17.2hh baroque Friesian stallion with enormous flamboyant movement. His mother, an ISH and successful former showjumper, also 17.1hh. Both with the most wonderful temperaments and bags of charisma. This boy got the best from both and is expected to reach 17-17.2hh. He has the Friesian looks and charm, with versatility of an ISH.

He was imprint trained from birth, and handled daily for his first year, before going off to live in a colt herd for the last 18 months. I’ve personally put over 100 hours of groundwork training in with him and absolutely nothing phases him. As a yearling I felt safer having my kids around him than a lot of adult horses. He’s been around noisy children, dogs, never scared of machinery or tractors in the yard etc.

He’s had the best feed, care and socialisation I could possibly give him, given that I bred him to keep for myself. However, we have emigrated to the USA and the import costs are so high that the idea of moving him has become unrealistic.

Spartan will make a terrific young dressage horse or allrounder. He’ll be a breeze to back, given the handling he’s had. I have a lot of videos of him from when he was a year old, and one more recent video too. Amongst these I have a video of me sitting on his back while he’s laid down in the field. He is truly one in a million and will be someone’s absolute dream horse.

He is based at a stud in Kent. He is 100% open to vetting and has never been lame or sick.
