Richard & Daisy Trayford have been been producing horses together for over two decades - in the UK & USA(Exmoor Eventing) and in Ireland where we live. We are now assisting international buyers during their search for quality Irish horses.

More & more buyers and sellers are doing business online - having us, based in the centre of Ireland, gives buyers a speedy and cost effective way of getting to a prospect quickly.

We charge a flat fee ie no commission is taken from either the buyer or seller. We simply represent the buyer who may not be able to try the horse themselves due to work/time/travel constraints.
Our clients get a great service from us for a very modest fee - €200 covers us visiting a yard (no extra if we see multiple horses at one location!) - we take extensive video, try the horse(s) and complete a detailed, unbiased report, which is sent to the potential buyer. We can attend a vetting as well if the client choses.

Our mission is to take any perceived risk out of horse shopping online!

Once the client receives satisfactory feedback on a horse or horses they are welcome to either proceed to an offer -we can even do that on their behalf if they prefer -and/or visit the horse themselves.

Daisy Trayford is a well known 4* competitor on the Eventing circuit in the UK, USA and Ireland. She takes pride in sourcing and producing Eventers and has had horses go on to 5* careers in the UK, USA and Ireland - she also coached Madonna for 6 years! Richard has run Eventing Competitions to FEI 4* level in the USA and they have hunted with over 50 hunts together - they even competed in the famous Golden Button race twice! Casanova himself is the maternal half brother to Dohnany the Hanoverian champion of the 3 year old stallions in Verden who won the bronze medal at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf. The dam used to be owned by Carl Hester who produced his successful dressage horse Chocolate Orange (s. royal hit). This mare is British bred, with her full history known.

She’s currently standing at 16/16.1 hh to grow a bit more.

She’s well handled, started groundwork and is ready to be ridden away.

Her sire Berdenn de Kergane was 1 of the most exciting young horses of the last few years. He was ridden by 2020 Olympic Team USA Silver Medallist Laura Kraut. Winning an Olympic Qualifier before his career was sadly cut short, he passed away long before he reached his peak in competition. Berdenn is proving himself as a top breeding stallion well with for example his son ‘Fancy de Kergane’ who’s now jumping with Cian O’Connor.

Herbie's sire is elite graded and has produced SICAB world champions, MCI national champions and studbook champions. Doblon-TR is a son of Ermitano III, who himself was the first elite graded PRE in the studbook and is renowned as a producer of dressage horses.

Herbie's dam comes from Impaciente II (elite graded, international Grand Prix) and Herbie's dam line is also responsible for our Oldenburg graded PRE mare Risa de Susaeta (also a daughter of Doblon-TR), who is a multi MCI national champion, 5th at MCI European Championships, studbook national champion and is competing PSG.

A very rare opportunity to acquire a very exciting son of Kjento, with all of the breeding to be a future success. His dam is 15.2hh and sire 17hh. I expect he will make a smaller horse.

Kalijento is sired by the 7yo world champion KJENTO. Kjento wowed in the World Young Horse Championships at Ermelo with scores in excess of 85% including a 10 for his trot.

The dam line of this colt truly sets him apart. Kalijento's dam, Razzle Dazzle (sired by Royal Diamond x Donnerhall) is out of the full sister to the Olympic bronze medallist and acclaimed stallion Don Schufro. Razzle Dazzle herself is sister to two international Grand Prix horses - one competed at the World Equestrian Games for Hong Kong and the other, ridden by Madeleine Witte-Vrees, has contended the World Cup series very successfully.

The dam line is responsible for horses such as Don Schufro, Blue Hors Zatchmo, Blue Hors Veneziano, Sunny Boy, Furst Toto, Just Wimphof plus numerous other successful dressage and breeding horses. This dam line is revered as one of the best in Germany.

This colt is bred for performance and is a very rare find in the UK. He is people orientated, easy to handle, extremely sweet and only for sale solely because I don't keep colts. His movement is typical of his breeding. He is an elegant, refined colt who will be a more modern type.

His price has been reduced on the basis that he has a small umbilical hernia which has been checked by my vet. It will likely need repair in the future which should be uncomplicated but would affect the ability for him to pass a vetting currently. Vet recommendation is for this to be done in the cooler weather, if he is still here in the autumn I will undertake to have this done myself but have offered him in his current state with an amended price in view of this.

For sale 3 year old 16.3hh unbroken Registered Irish Draught gelding.

Beautifully bred he is by Millhollow Real McCoy ex Fast Silver dam.

Absolutely stunning gelding with outstanding movement.

His dam bred a previous Dublin Ridden Hunter Champion.

He is 16.3hh now but will mature to 17hh plus. He has a beautiful frame to fill and when fully matured he will be some boy.

He has a lovely temperament and is now ready to start his education and be brought on.

He will make a top Ridden Irish Draught / Heavyweight Show Hunter / Masters horse

Kensi has been lightly backed and is ready to continue as a blank canvas for her new owner. Kensi is a careful jumper and has good paces and style. The videos show Kensi in her first few days. I do not have my youngsters jumping huge fences at an early age, as I want them to have time to grow and strengthen naturally in the field. I also did not back Kensi last year as she had a huge growth spurt and I prefer them to be more even when being backed. She is doing well, taking everything in her stride.

Kensi has a wonderful character, easy to do and very good standing for farrier on yard or in the field. Good with vet, loading, etc.

She has excellent manners, good with farrier, vet, etc. Not overhandled, but leads well and good on the ground.

Ziva's dam is Zarai de Haar and the dam line is extremely strong. Zarai herself did not compete as she broke her pelvis as a foal, though has been an amazing broodmare. Columbus Z is by Cornet Obolensky x Baloubet du Rouet. I have a half-brother to Ziva by him who is also stunning and has excellent conformation. As a stallion, I really rate Columbus, though cannot use him this year as he is focussing on competing.

Ziva has been away from home once, to do some loose jumping. Going on the lorry was another new experience for her, but she travelled very well and got on straight away to come home again. Ziva was confident when seeing the lane for the first time, understood what it was about very quickly and really showed off her beautiful trot and inquisitive personality. The video is a compilation of her learning experience. Ziva has been shown to have great jumping scope and I believe she will be a wonderful potential speed class horse. However, although she has a very forward thinking brain and is willing, she is not gung-ho and will be careful.

Ziva is is not yet backed. Ziva also has a hock spur, which causes her no problems and this is reflected in her price. I have not been able to look into this further, due to my own health issues and reduced income currently. Price is negotiable to the right home.

Excellent home essential for this much-loved homebred filly.

Ziva is five minutes from Hickstead.
