Balou – 16.1hh, 8yo Bay Irish Gelding

A smart, fun and forward-going all-rounder with plenty of scope and ability.

With us he has competed showjumping up to Discovery level on a ticket and has plenty of scope to go on further. Schools comfortably over bigger tracks at home.

He has also competed in hunter trials up to 80cm and happily schools over the larger BE fences, proving bold and genuine cross-country. He has been on fun rides with the drag hound pack and thoroughly enjoys being out and about.

A lovely horse to have around the yard – hacks alone, good to load and travel, and no stable vices.

HONEST AD

A lovely Irish Sports Horse with super breeding, movement, temperament, and scope. Nicely schooled on the flat and showing plenty of potential.

Unfortunately, he is not suitable for all our riding school/hireling clients. He would be far better suited to a knowledgeable one-to-one home with a confident and experienced rider who can continue his education and enjoy what he has to offer.

We are ideally looking for a swap for an older horse that would be better suited to our clients and riding school.

Perhaps your current horse is no longer taking you where you want to go competitively, or may be better suited to a quieter happy hacking lifestyle, and you are looking for something straightforward and hassle-free for the summer.

We will consider anything from 15.2hh–17hh, aged between 8–15 years. All types considered, provided they are suitable for our riding school.

He can be viewed at livery at Hart Equine. Please feel free to call Abbie, who will be happy to discuss him honestly and answer any questions.

A fun, forward-going Ride & Drive.

Dotty has been with us since March. She was purchased from a riding school after being a little too switched on for everyone there. We bought her because she drove, and we’ve had the best fun with her — from evening pub drives with the family to a driving holiday around Thetford Forest.

We’ve since discovered she also LOVES jumping.

She’s definitely more GO than WHOA, but she’s super safe with it.

She’s still green to ride, as she has mainly been driven, and she is very forward in her way of going because of it. However, the more she’s ridden, the better she becomes.

She would suit a super confident child or small adult who prefers a smaller horse.

We are just not using her enough to justify keeping her, so we are trying to find her a good home. She’s not really big enough for us to ride, and we already have two 17hh hunters.

She absolutely would hunt and is fearless cross-country. We’ve taken her on a hunt ride with around 30 others, where she was completely unfazed by the large group, big timber jumps, and hedges.

She is the easiest horse to have around and to do anything with. I’d keep her just as a pet if horses weren’t so expensive!

Harness and beautiful pleasure carriage are also available by separate negotiation. We can always put you in touch with someone to teach you if you have not driven before.

Cookie – 16.1hh 6yo Warmblood Gelding

Quality young horse bred to event with plenty of ability and a bright future ahead.

Cookie has previously been lightly competed up to BE100 in his former home, gaining points, and is now ready for someone to continue producing and enjoying.

He schools beautifully on the flat and always produces a lovely dressage test. He is careful and genuine over a fence with plenty of scope, and bold cross country.

A talented horse who would make a super grassroots event prospect or progress further in the right hands.

Quality enough in all spheres and would turn his hoof to pure Dressage or showjumping as well as eventing.

Lovely quality type with lots to like.

Lovely boy to have at home on the yard, will stand tied up quietly to be bathed and groomed. Very friendly temperament.
Clean limbs. Good feet. Open to vet. Lives out. Has been seen to have a very subtle vice at times. Can be discussed. There for offered at a fraction of his true worth to see him moved on in a new home.
West Sussex. M23.

Sham was imported from Ireland earlier this year. Since with us he has taken part in a hunter trial at munstead and unaffiliated show jumping up to 80cm.

He is nicely schooled on the flat and is an enjoyable hack. Straightforward to a fence with plenty of scope a good consistent gallop around cross country.

Loads and travels well. No stable vices.

Cleo is as lovely as they get. She has been with us for a full hunt season, giving many of our customers wonderful and safe days hunting.
She is only ever ridden in a snaffle and is a total on-the-buckle ride.

Always very chilled out, loads and stands on the lorry, will come off and tie to the side and stand quietly. Easy to tack up and mount from a block, and will stand nice and quietly at the meet. Good with hounds and large crowds of horses, even if the person behind you uses her butt for brakes.

She’s hunted with The Staff College Drag, Surrey Union, Coakham Bloodhounds and The Crawley & Horsham. She’s happy to stay at the back with the non-jumpers or be up front doing all the hedges.

We’ve been cross-country schooling with her around many venues such as East Bysshe, Lockskinners, Littleton Manor & Munstead. She has popped around unaffiliated at Felbridge and Pyecombe in the 80cm SJ. Again, always very chilled in the show environment. You can pop her back on the lorry to walk the course etc. and you don’t even know you’ve got her onboard, which always takes half the stress out of the situation.

To hack, she is very easy alone and with friends, open spaces, traffic, farm machinery and livestock. Where we are based, we have to ride through livestock, cattle and sheep on a daily basis and cross a very busy road with lots of big trucks and artic lorries. We regularly are out in the fields to feed them all with the tractor, which she loves as this means dinner time!

Easy mare, there is not a nap in her, never bucked, reared or bolted. Does not need riding every day. Bred in Ireland & imported in 2024 as a very lightly backed just started rising 4yo: produced correctly and slowly:

Good to load, catch, clip and shoe. Absolutely no vices what so ever.

We would rather she did not go to a novice home as she really does enjoy getting out and about doing the job properly.

Berry is a registered Shire mare standing at approximately 17hh. She is just the sweetest, kindest horse with a loving and kind temperament. She’s easy to catch, clip, bath, load & travel, and good for the farrier, with no stable vices.

Berry is only ever ridden in a snaffle. She will hack alone or in company, is good in traffic, and is totally unflappable. She is not frightened of articulated lorries, rattling trailers, motorbikes, push bikes, walkers, dogs, paper bags or scary flapping pheasants. She is also ok and very used to farm machinery & livestock.

Loves going down the pub and meeting new friends (especially if they happen to have some treats!!) standing quietly while you have a pint (or two) and will stand patiently while you try to get back on!

She will happily turn out in a herd or alone. She just settles right in and minds her own.

She has very good basic flatwork, with good upward and downward transitions, and is not at all a struggle to ride. Kick to go & pull to stop type ride. She loves having a jump and will take you to a fence and get you safely over the other side. When taken cross-country schooling, she happily popped around everything: ditches, water, timber, and small hedges.

We took her on a fun ride in April with the Staff College Drag Hounds, happily plodding along in her little snaffle on the end of the buckle with a novice lady rider. She was happy in a large group and, at no point, did she get silly or strong; she even jumped some of the bigger timber fences around Barossa.

Berry would be an asset to any mounted police force, RDA centre, riding school, or a lovely all-rounder family share. She really is a genuine confidence giver.

Cash is a 17.1hh, 8-year-old Irish mare. She has mainly showjumped unaffiliated up to 1 metre and is ready to go BS this summer with her new rider. She would make a wonderful eventer, dressage prospect, or simply a lovely family friend.

She is not at all marish and has a kind, soft, loving temperament.

She loves cross country and has been nicely schooled over a variety of fences, showing a willing and confident attitude.

She has hunted a few times this season with the Coakham Bloodhounds and has taken it all in her stride.

Out hacking, she is rock solid and good in traffic, making her a very reliable ride.

Cash would make a lovely family all-rounder. She is happy for children to have a go, is kind with a wobbly novice, and equally enjoys a steady hack down to the pub.

No vices. Good to catch, clip, load, and shoe.

Doogie has been with us for the current season and has proved himself a most genuine and accommodating sort. He has been out with a variety of packs, including the Staff College Drag Hounds and the Coakham Bloodhounds, taking everything in his stride. He is a sensible ride in a snaffle, stands quietly at the meet, and is mannerly in the field, showing himself to be good with hounds. Across country he is brave and willing, happily popping rails, ditches, hedges and the like, and is particularly pleasing in open spaces where he remains level-headed, never becoming strong or silly. He gives one the feel of a horse who will continue to make up into a most dependable hunter with further mileage.

On the flat, Doogie is working nicely for his age, with three correct, rhythmical paces and a willing attitude to his work. He is beginning to work in a consistent outline and is responsive without being sharp. With time and continued schooling, he would undoubtedly produce a very pleasing dressage test.

At home he is an absolute pleasure to have about the yard. He is easy to manage, turns out happily either in a mixed herd or on his own, and is free from stable vices.

He has been out clear round jumping at Felbridge Showground up to 70cm, which we feel is more than sufficient for his age, and he has given a very good account of himself. There is certainly scope for him to progress further in time. He has also enjoyed beach rides and pub rides, taking these experiences in his usual relaxed and sensible manner.

Doogie would suit someone seeking a smart, safe hunter, all-rounder or riding club horse. He is straightforward, genuine and easy to ride and handle, making him an enjoyable prospect for a wide range of riders.

Full history known. Good to load, clip, catch & shoe.

Rosie is a fun, forward-going mare who enjoys her work and is always keen to get on with a job.

She has previously done plenty of show jumping, dressage and hunting in her last home. Since being with us she has been out hunting a few times towards the end of the season, as well as fun rides, beach rides, cross country schooling and pub rides.

Hunting, she has been out with the Coakham Bloodhounds and Staff College. She stands quietly at the meet, will stand on or tied to the lorry, is keen when going and will jump everything with or without a lead. She then stands nicely at the end of the lines and will practically load herself to come home.

Cross country schooling, she is thoroughly enjoyable and will go over everything – water, ditches, hedges, timber and skinnies.

She has plenty of experience show jumping up to 80/90cm unaffiliated.

She loves hacking, is good in traffic and in open spaces. She is again keen and enjoys her work, but is still a safe ride.

Rosie would suit an experienced, confident teenager or small adult who enjoys a forward ride, jumping and faster work. She would not suit a nervous novice rider.

She would make a fabulous ladies hunter and would also do a field mastering job.

No stable vices.
Full history known, previous owner would love to stay in contact if allowed.

Meet Toby, a 4-year-old, 17hh Shire x Cob gelding. Imported from Ireland last year and broken by us last summer, Toby has hunted this season with us. He stands nicely at the meet, is good with hounds, and is brave to a fence.

He is a very polite boy who loves cuddles and fuss—you’ll quickly become his best friend. He’s the type you can load up by yourself, stress-free, and head off exploring. Very relaxed in new places, and never strong, hot, or silly.

Toby is still very green and needs time to produce. He hacks alone, and we often go out for hours just mooching about. He will stand quietly at the pub and is good in traffic, with livestock, and around farm machinery, which he sees daily.

He has popped around cross country and clear round show jumping. He also loves a plod down the beach and a splash in the sea.

No stable vices. Good to clip, catch, load, and shoe.

Brian is a 15.3hh, 6-year-old Connemara x Cob gelding with no recorded breeding. Since being with us, he has been used on several occasions as a hunter hireling, giving a variety of riders enjoyable and safe days out. He is a bold and genuine little horse who will jump anything you point him at. He stands quietly at the lorry and at the meet, settles well anywhere in the field, and is happy to go either first or last over a fence. He hunts in a little snaffle, and he has a lovely, soft mouth.

Brian is a super fun, forward-going ride who thoroughly enjoys his work. He hacks well both alone and in company and is sensible in traffic.

He has been cross-country schooled and absolutely loves his jumping. He is confident over a wide range of fences, including ditches, water, hedges, and timber, and will happily jump around a course of 80/90cm, consistently and always clear.
Schools nicely on the flat and would produce a nice dressage test.

He has also taken part in beach rides and fun rides with both ourselves and our customers, where he has proven to be a real firm favourite. All of our horses are carefully selected to sell, but are always thoroughly used and tested before being offered on the market. Transport can be arranged, and he can be sold with a warranty if purchased unseen.
He is good to clip, catch, load, and shoe, and has no vices.

He will suit someone as an allrounder / RC/PC / Ladies / Teens hunter.
