Don Dante, owned by Wendy McKay, has an incredible pedigree that includes top stallions such as Dancier, De Niro, Donnerhall, Lancier and Espri. Don Dante’s dam, Sabrina, is by Salvano, the grandsire of the famous Salinero. His competition record is outstanding. Since starting his ridden career, he has always turned judge's heads in the arena with his presence and expressive movement. In 2022 he moved to New Barn Stud to retire from competition and enjoy a happy hacking life along with his stud work. He is still sound aged 18, proving his longevity. He only began his stud career in 2014, once he had proven himself as a competition horse demonstrating his consistency, and trainability. Don Dante's foals inherit his eloquent movement, eager-to-please temperament, and confidence which has been proven again and again since 2014.
Alongside this, Don Dante is also an excellent choice of stallion for those with problems getting mares in foal due to his semen being high in motility and travelling very well.

As well as their expected dressage ability, Don Dante's progeny have been making themselves known in different disciplines. Most recently, the lovely mare, I'm On Fire; has evented with success at BE90 and BE100 and has qualified for 2025 Badminton Grassroots BE90. She is also competing well at dressage and has just started her education for Advanced Medium. Don Dante has also had winners in the show ring. A 2024 filly, Sherlock's Dante Northern Light, was Reserve Supreme Foal at the Midlands
Foal and Youngstock Show at Onley and was also awarded 1st Sports Horse Foal and Reserve Champion Sports Horse Foal, which were only a handful of the awards she received that day. The judges and spectators commented on her fantastic temperament and presence. In 2022, another filly won the Supreme Hunter Foal Champion at only 22 weeks old, at the Great Yorkshire Show, with Judges again commending her spectacular temperament which is a main accolade in the show ring.
