Opal is a much loved homebred mare and is only for sale due to downsizing due to time and space(and owner is not getting any younger unfortunately!)
She has three beautiful, athletic paces and brilliant conformation. She is a truly lovely model with a lovely, trainable attitude. She will make someone the most fantastic friend.
We had planned to keep her ourselves to breed from but I just haven’t the time to do them justice due to my increased work commitments and due to multiple surgeries my mum needs less to do so sadly we are having to be sensible and find a few of them new homes.
Opal is a beautiful mare, she was broken in as a youngster so there is potential for someone to ride her again, but she would need completely restarting so for this reason we are selling her mainly as a potential broodmare as her exceptional bloodlines lend themselves to this.
She has some of the best bloodlines for someone who would hope to breed with eventing in mind, her dam raced well both in Ireland and the UK and has some of the best bloodlines going back to Nijinsky so she has a fantastic pedigree on both sides with plenty of blood and quality. She is well put together and moves beautifully. She would be a real asset to a breeding programme wanting to use some of the best bloodlines in eventing and showjumping.
She does have a historical vet history that we are more than happy to disclose fully with potential buyers. (She is sound and has been for 3 years with no problems at all after being fully treated).
She loads easily but does prefer to travel in a 3.5t without a partition in. I have also travelled her in a 7.5t without a partition, but use the 3.5t mostly now as she loads and travels so happily this way.
She is a truly lovely mare who is being very much wasted looking very pretty in the field as a big pet currently. She is an easy mare to keep, having been stabled and kept entirely by my mum who is 5’4 and in her late 60’s. She lives happily either in or out all year round.
