Portia is for sale on behalf of her owner and has been a lovely mare to have on the yard.

We have found her to be a sweet, kind and straightforward little horse. She has a super attitude, wants to please, and is the sort that would suit someone wanting a fun, genuine all-rounder.

Portia has been out trail hunting, showjumping, cross-country schooling, hunter trialling and to unaffiliated outings. She has taken it all in her stride and has shown herself to be a really useful, willing type.

She has previously hunted, and we have been told that she is happy around hounds, will go in the field, stands well, and has been sensible getting on and off. She has also popped the hunt jumps and has given her riders some really enjoyable days out.

Out hacking, we have found Portia to be very easy and enjoyable. She is happy alone or in company, walks out well, and has been good with all types of traffic.

On the ground, Portia is a pleasure. She is good to handle, groom, bath, clip, shoe and load, and she is happy living in or out. She is also good to have around other horses. We have had her both in the stable and out in the field with others, and she has been no issue whatsoever.

This is a smart mare with excellent breeding who has her quirks but will make someone a fantastic horse. Please read whole ad, we adore her and want to find her the right home. She is not that complicated, just needs a job to do!

Lux is a 10yo 16.3 ISH mare by ARS Vivendi ex Olympic Lux - full siblings competing internationally jumping and eventing.
She is a beautiful type, has three very balanced and uphill paces and is bold and uncomplicated to jump.

I bought her as a 4yo from Ireland and produced and competed her as a 5yo before selling her to a small competent amateur lady locally. She had always been a good moving, good jumping and bold horse and loves a job.

Her owner then relocated to Singapore for work and Lux went with her! She continued to be produced for jumping and dressage but does not have an extensive competition record due to her time there. Her owner has since had two children and didn’t have to the time to keep riding and felt it was in the mares best interest to return to the UK to find a new home where she could have a more diverse lifestyle, kinder climate, turnout and hacking. If only all horses could have such wonderful owners!

Since being back with us she has been to various local venues for schooling and training shows, Felbridge, Coombelands, Pyecombe etc. She would affiliate in any discipline tomorrow and I believe will make a brilliant grassroots horse with the right person.

And here is the BUT… she is clever and will test her rider, either by occasionally napping which may include standing up or by being lazy in the first five minutes. She needs someone confident and a bit bossy: Once you and her have each others measure she is straightforward and I have taught all my girls on her including apprentices who all also hack and handle her.

Lux was sold last month to what appeared to be a suitable home with full disclosure and after multiple viewings. She also sailed through a vetting which we have available (she is pigeon toed in front, always has been and is very sound). On arrival in her new home she was unsettled which apparently presented itself as rude on the ground and nappy under saddle. The new owner decided in two days that she didn’t want to persevere so we did the right thing by Lux and took her back. A small yard with a lot of turnout may not be her ideal arrangement, she is very happy with a few hours and then wants to come in normally. Since being home she has settled straight back in to her routine and work.

We are now offering her at a reduced price but this is with the understanding that someone commits to her a long term home. She need to be given a chance to settle and this is a fantastic opportunity for a competitive amateur or teenager on a limited budget.

Vera is a beautiful black mare by Iron, her dam is Deniro x Dimaggio. She has 3 lovely paces and the real look at me factor.

Vera was backed last July and spent a few weeks just hacking around the farm tracks, and on the gallop track. She was very straight forward to back. She is sadly far too big for us so when she came home a friend rode her a few times, she was super sweet just very green. She can get a little spicy, nothing nasty she just gets a bit quick and will have a buck and leap about if excitable or fresh.

She was sent away to a friend over winter who was going to school her up and help sell her, sadly it didn't work out. She became very unsettled on the yard and ended up needing to be scoped and treated for ulcers. She does unfortunately have a previous history of ulcers, she also needed scoping and treating after being backed. She has had a vet check, ovary scan, back x rays bloods run, lameness check nothing picked up.

She is absolutely fine on my yard as it is what she knows. She will settle, as long as you have the time to put in the ground work and build up her confidence. It must be a chilled yard, with at least a few friends and lots of turnout. She doesnt cope well being left, so needs a yard where she will always have companionship. She is a fabulous horse, she just needs to find her person that understands her and isnt in a rush to get out competing. When she is ready to go out she will be awesome!

She is up to date with vaccinations, farrier and dentist etc. Loads and travels well on a 3.5, never been on anything else and never been clipped. She is good to handle, but can be a typical big baby and can be quite fidgety.

Absolutely no dealers, Vera is a quality horse and will only be sold to the very best home. She is homebred and very much loved. Her ulcer history is heavily reflected in her price, and is an absolute bargain for what she is priced at.

She could equally be a fab breeding mare, she was graded in to the main hanovrian stud book as a 3 year old.
