Direct Johnson x Donnerhall Mare

Quality 16.2hh, 10-year-old warmblood mare, directly by Johnson out of a Donnerhall mare.

She is a proven broodmare who has bred some lovely foals and is an excellent mum.

She was never backed simply because her role here has always been as a broodmare, rather than because of any known issue that would prevent her being ridden. There is no reason she couldn’t potentially be backed and brought on by someone experienced if that was what they wanted to do.

Used to living out in a group. She was born on site. She hasn’t seen a huge amount of the world, so I would expect her to benefit from sedation for travelling, particularly initially. Thrives with routine.

A really interesting mare for someone wanting top dressage bloodlines, either to continue breeding from or potentially produce under saddle.

• Are you thinking about purchasing a foal or youngster?
• Do you need somewhere for your foal to go for weaning?

Do you work full time and worry about the time needed to give your youngster a correct basic education?

Do you lack horses of a similar age for your youngster to run with?

Now accepting bookings for September onwards. Limited spaces available.

Located in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside Leake Connemaras offer Foal and Youngstock Livery with all basic handling taken care of so that you can be stress free about your youngster.

Youngsters are placed in small same sex and age groups with 24 hour turnout in summer in large grass fields and paddocks with secure fencing. In winter youngsters live in group barns with access to good quality haylage and youngstock balancer. Research shows that small herd living with adequate grazing, space and shelter maximises social, emotional and physical well being.

In addition to the above youngsters get the basic handling they need to form the foundations for later training such as bathing, grooming, sessions on the horse walker and horsebox loading. Our aim is to produce well rounded young horses and ponies that will excel in life, whether that be as someone's next olympic hopeful or family friend

Livery package includes haylage, youngstock balancer, bedding and farrier.

• This mare is fantastic, her nature is golden. A fantastic mother, easy from conception to weaning.

Nicarado (Diarado x Corland/Caratino Glory) - In foal to the rising star and 1.60 show jumping stallion Baloutaire (Balou du Rouet x Chacco Blue!/Voltaire)

This is a massive opportunity for a serious breeder looking not only for a world class broodmare, but one who is in foal to an absolutely outstanding stallion. Her 2026 colt foal by the same stallion is incredible; jet black and displaying the outstanding athleticism expected from this breeding. He was sold for five figures within a week of his birth. This is world class breeding at it's best, do you dare to miss out?

Our beautiful Nicarado stands at 16.1hh and is nine years old. She is a lovely mare to have on the yard, being mannerly and very sweet natured. This is a hugely athletic mare, she moves absolutely beautifully and has a huge effortless jump. She is vice free and easy to deal with in every way and in any situation. She has previously had an absolutely stunning colt with us by Conthalou who has been sold to a 5* eventer.

Nicarado, or Kiwi as we call her has been under saddle previously and prior to injury but is completely recovered and sound

She is by the great Diarado who is number one for the world ranking stallions for eventing and eleven for show jumping!

Diarado is one of the most popular, and highest-ranked, stallions in Germany, and he impresses with exemplary ease at the jump, with superior scope, a willingness to perform that is second to none, maneuverability and intelligence; attributes that are necessary for today’s technical courses. Diarado is not only popular as a sire of show jumpers, but also as a sire of eventers; he always passes on his beautiful and correct type and conformation, which is so important for long-term soundness and durability. He was in sixth place on the 2017 BE Sire Rankings for 4-8 year-old offspring.

His sire, Diamant de Semilly topped the WBFSH Sire Rankings for the second time in 2016, having been inside the top ten since 2012. During his career, he was French national champion and WEG team gold medallist in 2002, and European team silver medallist in 2003.

Nicarado's dam sire, Corland is from the famous Holsteiner Line 104A, which goes directly back to Retsina, a two-time winner of the Hamburg Derby.

Corland had an impressive career under W.J. van der Schans. At the European Championship, Corland proved to all that he belongs in the category ‘the best in the world’. In Nation’s Cup series, he won both qualifiers and had the best results of the Nation’s competition clocking the fastest clear round. In the finals, he was 9th. Additionally, there were the following results: 2nd GP Rotterdam, 4th GP’s Oslo and Den Bosch, 5th GP’s Bordeaux and Maastricht, 6th GP Helsinki, 7th GP’s Zuidlaren, La Baule and Calgary.

He also was Champion of the Benelux in The Hague, 7th in the World Cup of Verona and 2nd in ‘The Sires of the World’ in Lanaken.

Her dam was out of a Caretino Glory mare whose back pedigree is packed with the key names in jumping breeding – Cor De La Bryere, Ramiro, Gotthard. Further investigation of his pedigree goes some way to explaining why he passes on both quality and better than average movement.

His sire Cheenook was trained to Grand Prix level dressage, and was known for his flamboyant movement despite his Holstein jumping pedigree. In Germany alone he has 56 offspring competing at S level show jumping and 16 at S level dressage. Cheenook’s full sisters produced the decent show jumpers Cocu who represented the USA at the World Equestrian Games and Carino who also competed at 5* level.
