Beautiful Black Warmblood Mare
- 18 years
- 16 hands
I am reluctantly looking for a new home for my Warmblood mare, this is following a bereavement. Her sire was a Swedish Warmblood, her dam Hanovarian x TB.
Zeanna came to us a few years ago. She was lightly ridden but has since then lived on the farm with our older broodmares. She is a beautifully well mannered mare. She is sensible and calm and has no vices whatsoever. She gets on well with other horses and has never been a days bother. She is also beautifully bred, being by the British Warmblood Champion Stallion Zidjian, with her dam being by the outstanding Hanovarian stallion Limbo.
Although she is 18 years old, Zeanna is very fit and well and has many years of life left in her, she doesn't look a day over 10 and has lead a very easy life where no work demands have been placed on her. This has been a very reluctant and considered sale, and she will only go to an experienced and well vetted home. A permanent home is an absolute must, I will not allow her to go to any dealers etc and I feel she needs to go somewhere where she will be kept at an owners premises or farm, much like she is here, and to someone who keeps their horses for life. I don't want to see this mare being passed around livery yards or other owners.
This mare was lightly ridden when she came to us, she was sensible and good to do but she has not been worked for a good few years. She would be a perfect companion mare as she is easy going, she is not clingy to other horses as she's quite independent but also kind, and she doesn't tend to stress or call to others here when they leave the stables. She would also be ok as a light hack. However any potential new owner would have to appreciate that this are has not done anything for years so she would have to be treated very sympathetically and brought back into work slowly. It would be unfair to expect her to be any more than a light hack either.
Please contact me for more photos or videos. Zeanna is open to age related vetting, and viewings can be arranged for suitable buyers. Please don't be offended if I say I don't think you would be a good match as its vitally important that this mare finds the right home. She will stay here on the farm if she doesn't, however I feel she has so much left to give and would be better off in a home where she gets that one to one attention rather than being the younger energetic mare in an ageing herd here.
Stabling in the winter is essential, she has never been left out in bad weather. And a knowledgable home.
