Wanted genuine horse/pony for a fun varied life. Mainly for experienced, ridden all her life mum to hack out with children and ponies around our quiet country tracks and lanes. Must also hack alone. Nothing sharp please.

To join in with riding club clinics and a bit of sj and xc, pop a log in the woods or go for an amble along the beach that sort of thing. It will be a fun varied life.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Rising 15 year old mare, has competed BD up to Inter I winning Area Festivals at PSG and Inter I but now looking for a step down.

Last year was her first season showing and was only shown her a handful of times, but has been Champion each time out including winning the Rising Star Associate Riding Horse/Hack Qualifier and going on to be the Rising Star Associate Champion at the BSHA Spring Show.

Qualifying for London International Horse show winning the Rising Star Large Riding Horse qualifier at Honiton show. She loved competing in London with the big atmosphere and crowd.

Same home from a yearling and is a pleasure to do in every way. Can be lead in from field by 8 year old.

Hacks alone or in company, first or last, we regularly meet Tractors, Bin Lorries, School Buses/Coaches out hacking and cross the busy A32 to get to the local gallops. Very polite in open spaces, will walk until you ask her to go quicker.

Loves to work and enjoys a varied life, she is not a novice ride as she can be strong at times but does not buck, rear, bolt and is vice free.

Good to box, shoe, clip. Travels in Trailer and Lorry and will happily stand eating whilst in the Trailer/Lorry at shows.

Only for sale as she wants a step down from high level dressage, therefore will not be sold to a predominantly Dressage focused home.

10* home wanted for this very special mare.

EVENTER - Mother / daughter share / schoolmaster

Currently ridden by a petite 15yr old girl! Miller is a super kind genuine and easy allrounder! He would be perfect for someone wanting to step up a level or someone wanting to do a bit of everything on from ODES to hacking out!

He’s the sort of horse you could pick up and ride whenever you like and he will always be the same!

Miller has Evented all over the country up to 2** and he’s also jumped abroad and done the u18s up until 12yr old but he has not done it for a while due to no fault of his own - he is now doing a bit of everything with us. However has done a couple of BSJA shows at 1.20m which he won so he is still eligible for British novice (he only has 58 bsja points)

However he could quite easily get back out competing at that level.

He has a temperament to die for and is easy to handle in all ways and he has never put a foot wrong.

He’s been to arena hires, hacked through the village and jumped down at our local competition centre where he flew round no problems!

He’s hacked all through the village and is super in all traffic and in open fields with plenty of brakes… while also breezing around 100cm courses at home in the arena and at arena hires he is proving to still show the potential to jump round some bigger stuff.

Miller is use to all busy warm ups and will go out and do a dressage test with three lovely balanced paces along with flying changes and he is great at leg-yielding…

Miller would make a great allrounder for someone wanting to learn the ropes or just have a fun on and is very flexible and would be amazing in a jump off!

Great to clip,shoe,catch ext

He’s fit and healthy and he has had a general MOT by our vet before advertising him and he’s fit and ready to go!

Absolutely no trials/loans/LWVTB. If your genuinely interested then your welcome to try him as much as you like or hire a venue and we’ll take him.

Don’t be put off at his age. This Horse is fit as a fiddle injected for nothing open to any vet/x-rays.

Please Pm for videos

River turns her hoof to absolutely anything and is the sweetest mare to have on the yard. In the past 6 years of owning her we have done sponsored rides, dressage competitions, local shows, been to the beach and forests, evented, team chased, done loads of Pony Club rallies and been to camp 3 year running- there’s not much this special horse hasn’t done!

River is great on the flat, competing up to Novice where she is very responsive off the leg and produces some lovely movements. She loves to jump and is an absolute XC machine, jumping anything you put in front of her. For cross country he have competed at many hunter trials and she is consistently in the placings. I hack her out loads and is unfazed by traffic, lorries, tractors etc. She is forward but by no means silly or unsafe and always has breaks. Never bucks, rears or bolts and will go alone or in groups.

River is snaffle mouthed at all times and is forwards so wouldn’t suit a novice. Although she is 15 she definitely doesn’t act it and has loads more competitive years left in her. Thrives off a busy routine where she is out and about having fun. There’s nothing more River loves than storming round the XC course or galloping down the beach!

Very sad sale because I am now at Uni and she will only go to the absolute best home. We are open to negotiate on loans although would prefer a sale. Hundreds of photos/videos available via WhatsApp.

Looking for a super safe type that would enjoy a lifestyle of weekend hacking and some low level schooling/ dressage and trips to the beach! A family horse not a competition horse. All ages considered but no full tbs sorry.

Must be 100% in traffic both alone and in company as we go out onto a busy main road. Confidence giving type - am returning to riding after a bit of a break after the sad loss of my last horse.

Experienced home on a small private yard. Plenty of turnout - 24/7 in summer and out all day during winter, in overnight.

Doesnt necessarily need to pass a vetting as long as it can do the job. Must have a kind personality. More than happy to keep in contact and can provide references.

  • Donny has super flashy movements, along with excellent flatwork.

He has been professionally produced throughout his life and this really shows in his schooling. He is total clockwork on the flat. He has automatic changes, good lateral work, rein back, medium trot etc. He is the most comfortable horse to ride, anyone who sits on him falls in love. He is the type to make you look a very good rider!

Donny would make a fantastic dressage horse. He has all the buttons for it. He is the type judges love. This year he qualified for trailblazers national championships with very impressive scores.

Donny has done a small amount of showing which he has taken to really well and is well admired. He has been very successful in the small amount of showing he’s done. He would make a fantastic contender for veteran classes. He has excellent confirmation and his paces are beautiful, he really is eye catching.

In his earlier years, he showjumped to a high level. He lost the love for this in a competitive sense but he does still enjoy to do it for a bit of fun at home and happily popped rounds course with a 12yo girl.

Donny is super to hack. He prefers to be in company but will go up front or behind. He’s fantastic in traffic and open spaces. He doesn’t get strong or silly. I think he would be great for sponsored rides. He’s the type that would love to go for long hacks, beach rides etc. he would really like a fun and varied life.

Donny is great in every way on the ground, easy to handle. He has the most loving temperament and really is a character.

Despite being easy in many ways, he’s not suitable for novices as he’s forward thinking.

We think so much of this horse. He really deserves a loving fun home where he can have lots of fun living a varied life.

VERY reluctant Sale of Fred my 16 yr old 15.3hh TB/WarmBlood Gelding.

Fred is very forward going & not a novice ride.

Previously a seasonal hunter but he gets too excited so I would not recommend a hunting home - or for fun rides as he takes all the fun out of it - as he's been blasted around the hunting field - but for someone who will continue with his quiet way of life - with regular schooling.

During our schooling sessions which he hadn't done prior to my owning him - he works really hard in the school he has a lovely outline and paces, tracks up well - He can do it all he's just never had to do it under previous ownership.

I have jumped him just at local shows at 60/70/80 as per the picture - but it was hard work - he can jump but he rushes into jumps and needs to improve his balance. That said I just went and did it only months after owning him so didnt put in the ground work!

Hacks out absolutely fine on his own, not phased by heavy traffic /buses / tractors - live on a farm so surrounded by the stuff - however he might look at a large log like its a dead animal! If in company prefers to be up front as he's a marcher!,

Good to load, goes to sleep when clipping, fine to wash, great with farrier and vet

An absolute gentleman in stable and around children - easy to catch, comes to calling his name.

With a busy family & work commitments - I am struggling to find the time to keep him in consistent work.

Up to date with teeth, back - vaccs will need re-starting..

Saddle recently checked and gullet adjusted.

Located in North Cornwall

Comes with Saddle and bridle and some rugs.
