Spartan is an outstanding home bred Friesian Sports Horse colt. He is currently still entire but can be gelded.

His father was a registered 17.2hh baroque Friesian stallion with enormous flamboyant movement, the sweetest and easiest stallion I’ve ever come across. His mother, an ISH and successful former showjumper, was also 17.1hh. Both with the most wonderful temperaments and lots of charisma. This boy got the best from both and is expected to reach 17.1-2hh. He has the Friesian looks and charm, with versatility of an ISH.

He was imprint trained from birth, and handled daily for his first year, before going off to live in a colt herd for the last two years. I have personally put over 100 hours of groundwork training in with him and absolutely nothing phases him. As a yearling I felt safer having my kids around him than a lot of adult horses. He has been around noisy children, dogs, never scared of machinery or tractors in the yard etc.

He has had the best feed, care and socialisation I could possibly give him, given that I bred him to keep for myself. However, we have emigrated to the USA and the import costs are so high that the idea of moving him has become unrealistic.

Spartan will make a terrific young dressage horse or allrounder. He will be a breeze to start under saddle, given the handling he has had and his calm demeanour. I have a lot of videos of him from when he was a year old, and one more recent video too from early 2026. Amongst these I have a video of me sitting on his back while he was laid down in the field. He is truly one in a million and will be an absolute dream horse for someone.

He is based at a stud in Kent. He is 100% open to vetting and has never been lame or sick.

There are lots of video of him and both of his parents, Zeus and Vogue, on my instagram. This has been a very difficult decision, so please only very serious enquiries. I would prefer to arrange a call time via WhatsApp and then to speak on the phone. All of the videos I have are on this advert and on my instagram, which is shared on the ad. I cannot be there to show him but the stud owner and staff are very good and there’s an arena where he can be brought to so that his movement and ground manners can be observed.

I am looking for a 5* home for him, with a very experienced person. Ideally no livery yards unless the care is high end and turnout is unlimited. I’m going to be extremely selective of the home he goes to so please only enquire if you believe you can offer what I’ve described.

I bought Liquorice as a bay foal (22/3/23), she was a sweetie from the start. Within a year she had started to show her grey hairs, she’s going to be a grey! She’s just turned 3.

With her interesting breeding Irish draught 50% Cleveland bay25% tb 25% I think she will be a magnificent combination in the show ring and a really useful all rounder. She is currently about 15-1ish growing well. Could make 15.2+

Jamesie is a striking 4 yr old black gelding dressage prospect by the sought after Jameson RS2 out of a Florencio mare. Bred by the highly regarded Caledonia Stud, he has 3 powerful, athletic paces with a natural swing through his body and we think he’ll have a great engine under saddle.

He’s currently 15’3h and we expect him to make 16hh/16.1hh. He’s only for sale as he sadly hasn’t grown enough for his owner’s super long legs!

He has begun the backing process and he is lungeing with a saddle on, having been relaxed about being introduced to tack after his initial groundwork.
He’s an absolute gem in the stable, loves a groom and is very good to have his feet picked out.

Having only recently come in from herd turnout 24/7 he’s settled straight into being stabled overnight and turned out individually during the day, so he would be happy living in or out.
He’s up to date with the farrier, teeth, worming and vaccinations and is good to lead to the field and to catch.
He has also been in a 3.5t and 7.5t lorry, loading and travelling well on both occasions.

This is a sad sale as he is already a much loved character but we hope to find someone who wants a smaller horse but with serious potential for the higher levels with GP potential that will go on to have a very happy and successful partnership with him.

Jameson RS2 won his performance test and the Pavo cup as a young horse as well as being highly placed at the World championships for young horses and he has recently done his first Inter 2 H/C scoring over 73%. With Jamesie also having a strong dam line (Florencio/Donnerhall) he's an exciting horse for the future, having been bred for ability and good temperament.
