At Blackwater Equestrian horses and ponies can be taken for schooling/sales or long/short term livery where one to one care is provided whether aiming for competition or just pure enjoyment. The boxes are all generously proportioned 12x14m with rubber matting and underfloor heating with stable cameras automatic water drinkers and approximately over 30 acres of paddocks surrounding the yard all post and rail and electric fencing.

Mark & Claire have a wealth of experience in the equine field and practical knowledge of coaching and schooling horses/ponies at all levels in showjumping XC and dressage.

Mark Hallion has a lifetimes experience in producing horses and ponies, a thorough knowledge of breeding lines and an exceptional eye for horse correctness and conformation coupled with a practical understanding of good equine husbandry and nursing horses after injury and illness.

Horses at Blackwater are managed on an individual basis, a bespoke programme can be put together to meet the horse and riders requirements. Horses can be exercised by Mark,Claire and the team at Blackwater or clients can ride daily and have full use of the horse walker, all weather arena, off road hacking, cross country field & show-jumps. We cater for schooling horses/ponies from being totally unfit and taken through to competition level fitness or post injury rehabilitation or keeping the horse ready during school term enabling children to ride at weekends or simply to improve a horses way of going.

Advice can be given on all aspects of equine care including a competition guidance programme if required and lessons, of course, can be provided to keep owners in tune with their horse. For the non competitive person, a small family yard provides a fun atmosphere for you to enjoy your horses all year round.

We travel to international shows each year and take livery clients with us if they would like to join.

Luke Baber-Davies is a renowned expert in all aspects of dressage and riding with over 30 years of experience, with a special focus on starting and re-training dressage horses. His professional services are tailored to meet your individual requirements, with a strong emphasis on care, honesty, and attention to detail. He's already achieved tremendous success in his own riding and has trained with some of the world's top riders, including Carl Hester and Sune Hansen, as well as Anne Van Olst, Fiona Bigwood, and Emile Faurie. Luke has also ridden for exclusive studs such as Van Olst Horses in Holland,. Above all, Luke is known for his passion, caring and honest approach. We are based just outside Horsham, West Sussex. We are easily accessible by road, but also a short distance from London Gatwick airport for international clients. With Luke’s expertise, state-of-the-art facilities, and a supportive community, you'll have everything you need to reach your dressage goals.
