WELCOME BACK TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE JOINED US AT ONE OF OUR AUCTIONS BEFORE, AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN'T – THE BREEN TEAM ARE DELIGHTED TO WELCOME YOU TO OUR HOME FOR THE 2025 EDITION OF THE HICKSTEAD PLACE AUCTION - IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ALL ENGLAND JUMPING COURSE, HICKSTEAD.
Having the auction in our family home goes to the heart of our philosophy here at Breen Equestrian. Our homebred horses in the catalogue were born and produced here at Hickstead, a stone's throw from where you are sitting tonight. We are focused on breeding and producing top class competition horses, which are very carefully and slowly brought on by a close-knit team of individuals who all share a love of horses and the sport of showjumping.
We are also delighted to be able to share with you several foals hand-picked by Shane and Greg Le Gear from outside of our stable. Cup Qualifier CSIO 5* Aachen 2025; Winner of the 7YO Final at The Al Shira'aa British Young Horse Championship, Hickstead 2025 and qualified for the FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses.
There has been an explosion in the number of sport horse sales world-wide over the last decade, with industry titans such as P. S. I. Auction in Germany, and Fences in France raising the bar year on year. Businesses such as Goresbridge Horse Sales Ireland and Cavan Equestrian Performance Horse and Pony Sale in Ireland, along with Brightwells, The Billy Stud Auctions and Bolesworth Elite Auctions in the UK have really pioneered the way in the sale at auction of Sport Horses, as opposed to the Thoroughbred sales. More recently we have seen a greater demand for a curated, hand-picked stable of auction lots. The Brilliance Horse Auction Company, Aloga, Ballypatrick Auctions and our own Hickstead Place Auction cater to this growing sector of the sport horse sales market.
We believe that it is crucial to lead by example. Over the years, Breen Equestrian Ltd has bought many horses at auction; Dorada from Goresbridge, Hello Vittoria from Fences and BP Arctic Blue from Ballypatrick Auctions. More recently we have joined the newly formed Auction Fever syndicate to purchase the spectacular yearling full brother to Lilly Keenan's Kick On and a gorgeous filly foal by Chacco Blue, from The Bolesworth auction in June 2025.
