CARRICKVIEW DEXTOS – EXCEPTIONAL YOUNG SHOWJUMPING PROSPECT
Superb breeding, outstanding consistency and all the ingredients to go right to the top of the sport.
Dexter is a handsome, quality 6-year-old with an exciting future ahead of him. Holding an Irish passport but boasting impressive warmblood breeding, he is a young horse with the pedigree, attitude and ability to make a serious competition prospect for the future.
Sired by the legendary Comme Il Faut, with the renowned For Pleasure featuring in his dam line, Dexter has numerous 1.60m performers in his pedigree. He certainly looks to have inherited the scope, carefulness and athleticism to follow in their footsteps.
Dexter is already proving himself in the ring, jumping and placing consistently in Foxhunter classes, with plenty of scope and ability to suggest that the bigger classes could be well within his reach.
His record speaks for itself:
- Qualified Newcomers for 2027.
- Just one more double clear needed for his 2027 Foxhunter qualification.
- Qualified for the Amateur 1.10m Second Rounds.
- Recently qualified for the 2027 Blue Chip Performance (Foxhunter) Finals at the Aintree Winter Classic.
- 15 double clears in his last 21 classes, with some excellent placings along the way.
That is an exceptional strike rate for a young horse and a real testament to his ability, consistency and willing attitude.
Dexter has been carefully and patiently produced with the future in mind. He is a naturally careful horse who combines an excellent technique with plenty of bravery, and he is not at all spooky in the arena. He has the scope and quality to progress through the levels while retaining the temperament and rideability that make him such an enjoyable horse to have on the yard.
He is riding beautifully on the flat, with established flying changes, and is a lovely horse both to ride and to handle on the ground. He enjoys his hacking and everyday routine, and has no vices or quirks.
Dexter would be an exciting addition to a professional competition yard looking for a quality young horse to produce for the future, but his genuine nature and straightforward attitude could also make him a fantastic prospect for an ambitious amateur working with the right support.
A very exciting young horse with the breeding, record and potential to go on to bigger and better things. Quality young horses with this combination of scope, carefulness, consistency and temperament are increasingly hard to find.
