Dorris is a lovely mare looking for a home as a companion after coming into our care due to her owner's change in circumstances. She is a sweet-natured mare who gets on well with other horses and is happy to share a hay pile with her field companions.

Dorris is currently living out 24/7 with another mare, but could be introduced to geldings or stabling in her new home. Once she has settled into her new environment, she is good to handle and enjoys human interaction. She is very easy to catch, happily accepts her headcollar, stands well for all four feet to be picked out, and enjoys being groomed while tied up with a hay net. Dorris can be a little forward when being led in new surroundings, so she would be best suited to a handler who is confident around larger horses. She is very good for both the vet and farrier, does not require overly restricted grazing, and would make a fantastic companion for other horses looking for a kind and settled field friend.
