PEGGY – EXCEPTIONAL SHIRE X IRISH DRAUGHT HUNTER

Peggy is a wonderful Shire x Irish Draught who originally hunted in Ireland and has since been the most fabulous hunter hireling for us.

A true anyone’s ride and a top-class hunter, Peggy is the sort that is becoming increasingly hard to find. She is sure-footed, reliable and incredibly comfortable – the type you could happily sit on all day. She is never hot, strong or silly and gives her rider a lovely, safe and enjoyable ride.

Peggy has done a huge variety of work with us, including hunting, beach rides, fun rides, cross-country and riding holidays. She stands beautifully at the meet, is excellent with hounds and has never lifted a leg.

She hacks alone happily, is good in traffic and is sensible around farm machinery and livestock.

Peggy loads and travels in anything and is exceptionally patient. She will stand quietly like a rock until you are ready to unload and will happily tie to the side of the lorry without fuss.

Good to do in all ways, Peggy is a genuinely uncomplicated, kind and dependable mare. She would be extremely hard to replace and is exactly the sort of horse everyone wants in their yard.

For anyone looking for a genuine, comfortable and reliable hunter who knows her job inside out, Peggy is the one.
