DOB 08/05/2025. Born and raised in idyllic conditions, he is ideal for someone who loves palomino, but may have struggled to find one big enough and quality enough with that real event stamp to him.

Crowns Ace of Pearl needs no introduction, he has proven his worth in competition and his biddable temperament as his social media has demonstrated. To his credit, this colt has a very level head himself, who never seems to become overwhelmed by anything. He also has a very happy, gentle character, which proves more an advantage in the long run than the 'cheeky, spicy' type.

On his dam line, there is Ramexico and Ricardo Z, both prolific stallions in both eventing and show jumping. The dam has 75% thoroughbred blood whilst having a big balanced frame. I have her 4yo and 2yo offspring, both to Irish Draught stallions, which I am keeping for myself as show hunters. I'm absolutely mad about their temperament, trainability and straight movement. This is the third and last foal from this mare, despite only being 15. She has never been used as a foal factory, despite having fantastic fertility and maternal instinct, she will now retire with me until the end.

Lionwood Helianthus aka Rebel, born May 2025.

Rebel’s sire Steeped in Luck needs no introduction as a Class 1 Gold Merit dressage stallion who competed successfully in North America through FEI Grand Prix level before retiring to the UK and now Ireland to stand at stud.

Rebel’s dam Pagestown Poppy (also Class 1) only started her showing career last year. So far she has been Champion ID mare Ossory 2024, Ossory 2025, and Ballyfoyle 2025, and overall Reserve Champion Broodmare Ballyfoyle 2025. She qualified with Rebel for the Leitrim Breeders Championships 2025. Poppy is a maternal half sister to HOYS Champion Show Cob The Comedian, multiple HOYS finalist heavyweight hunter Pagestown Principal, and Balmoral 4yo performance ID winner and IDHBA Mare of the Future Pagestown Harmony. In addition to her exceptional production record, Poppy’s dam Liskillen Harmony is a gold merit and championship winning broodmare in her own right. This is also the female family of IDHSGB Supreme Champion/multi-HOYS finalist Heavyweight Hunter Griffin Bridge, multiple HOYS finalist Small Hunter Hart Beat, and Rebel’s sire, Steeped in Luck, among many others (Rebel is linebred on this extraordinary damline).

Damsire Lionwood Kinsale’s Lad (Gold and Silver merit) was an IDHSNA breed champion before embarking on a successful competition career (Intermediare level dressage and 1.25m showjumping) in the US, earning numerous USDF certificates and breed awards along the way. He is the sire of successful competition and show horses in Canada, the US, the UK and Ireland. Most recently his son IJ Countryman was the 2024 Reserve Champion Hunter in Dublin, placed 3rd in the Heavyweights at HOYS 2024 with Rob Walker, and has qualified again this year after wins at Cheshire and RIHS.

Rebel is a beautiful filly with excellent breed type and quality. Straight limbs and powerful, correct movement. Well handled and gregarious. Brave as a lion away from home with loads of presence in the show ring. Rebel has been placed in every class this year including Dublin (red rosettes Ballyfoyle and Ossory), and she has qualified for the All Ireland ID Filly Foal Championship Final taking place in September.
