Seamus was bought 5 years ago with the idea being to bring him on to event for my then 9yo daughter on the strength of his enormous jump, but never quite made the height we hoped for; He is a phenomenal hunting pony, and this is where he REALLY excels - a mother's dream, totally trustworthy and safe. Jumps rails, ditches, hedges etc, never silly; snaffle-mouthed and easy to control. He doesn't mind where he is in the field and will stand politely at the meet or waiting for hounds. Seamus would suit a competent rider looking to have a ball on the hunting field or at pony club. He really is worth his weight in gold when it comes to hunting and would be particularly ideal for someone who can't accompany their child out hunting, as he is bombproof and will look after his rider and bring them home safely. I certainly wouldn't want my child taking on anything that Seamus couldn't jump! He took my daughter out from the age of 9 (though due to Saturday school commitments he is low mileage) and she always came back with a huge smile on her face and he will be very sorely missed for that reason.

Seamus has a huge, scopey jump - he rarely touches a pole and is very careful. Unfortunately we never had the time to convert his natural scope into success in competitions whilst juggling other ponies and boarding school and he is simply not ridden enough. But when my daughter comes home from school and just wants to ride, she loves taking Seamus out and just having fun. He will happily school around fences of any shape or size at home or schooling (inc. XC). With more work he could excel. He can jump any gate from a trot; is perfectly happy being jumped and ridden bare-back; and is absolutely dead straight to a skinny.

He is well schooled on the flat and was consistently well placed in dressage competitions last season with very little practice. Has good movement and could do very well with work. Hacks alone or in company, dresses up for fancy dress, easy to shoe, clip, bath etc.; Has done numerous PC activities, and attended camp in a 1m+ ride last year with my then 12yo daughter. Has schooled round Pontispool, Stockland Lovell, Treborough at 1m XC, but also excelled at 'pillow polo', bareback SJ, and other fun Pony Club games.

Last year, was placed 3rd in the Taunton Vale's Open gate jumping competition, clearing 1.30m (the first horse to do so) before my daughter decided that was high enough and withdrew.

Lives in or out, without fail he is always the first at the gate and adores people, dogs and attention. Good manners and loves being handled. Will travel in a trailer or lorry. Up to date with teeth, flu, etc. 5* home absolutely essential. Please get in touch for more information.
