Cobs like him simply don’t exist and certainly don’t come to market.

16hh 10 year old Maxi cob, a competitive yet safe schoolmaster under saddle and on the ground.

Showing:
True to type show cob, excellent conformation and he is a real showman.
Would be an excellent type for HOYS, SFAS, LIHS.
Trained in side saddle with some real untapped potential in this sphere.

Dressage:
Competes at unaffiliated elementary and ready to go BD, beginning to train medium movements at home

Hunting:
Thor lives for hunting, always the safest horse on the hunt field, hops any hedge/ ditch and the trappier the line the better he gets.

He absolutely loves going out with the hounds. Happy to wait around, go infront/ behind/ jumps anything without question. Would look after any rider on the hunt field.

Eventing:
Be80 schoolmaster, has competed and trained over be90 fences.
Was on the original cobs can event tv series

Showjumping
Again a complete schoolmaster at 80, clean and careful in front and will take a miss from The rider.

Thor is a complete joy to own and train, he’s smart and loves working as a partnership with his rider. Lovely uphill paces, and a comfortable ride. The sky really is the limit with him, if you believe it he will help you achieve it.

Easy on the ground, hacks alone and In company can be ridden by children. Has been a schoolmaster for BHS training modules, and often acts as a nanny for younger horses. Loads and travels a dream. Is always competed and travelled by a single owner across the uk without issue.

Barefoot, lives out in a herd 24/7, no known vices. All history known and been in the same home since backing.

Only available to the absolute right home that will keep in touch. Currently fit and ready to hit the ground running.

Five figure budget required for a horse of his calibre, would suit many people looking for a safe, top level allrounder or a professional looking for a show cob to add to their string.

Open to any vetting, based in Aberdeenshire with excellent facilities. No loans/ lease/ trials/ time wasters please. Not sold with tack, jump saddle available at separate negotiation

Ryder is a 6-year-old Clydesdale cross gelding with a heart as big as his personality. Currently standing between 15.3hh and 16hh (to be confirmed), he is an eye-catching, solid stamp of a horse who turns heads wherever he goes.
Originally bought for a client, sadly due to unexpected health issues (a third hip operation), she will no longer be able to ride — which is a real shame, as Ryder would have been ideal. Since then, I've continued his education and the more I do with him, the more I believe he’s capable of turning his hoof to anything — he’d even look a picture in the show ring.

Training & Temperament

Ryder was backed at 4 years old but then turned away for 18 months. I’ve given him a full restart and he’s now 12 weeks back under saddle, taking everything in his stride.
Hacking alone or in company — happy in front or behind
Has been ridden and led from
Sensible, curious and forward-thinking
Will occasionally look at things, but nothing spooky — a little encouragement and he cracks on
Beginning his schooling journey now, and showing promise
He’s a genuine people-pleaser — first to the gate, trots over to say hello, and follows you around the field like a dog. He loves attention, cuddles, scratches and, of course, treats.

 On the Ground

Excellent for the farrier — recently had his first set of shoes
Vaccinations and teeth now fully up to date
Clipped for the first time here — behaved like a seasoned pro
Generally polite, though he can be pushy around food (easily managed — a quick finger click and he steps back like a gent)

Home Requirements

Ryder is looking for a knowledgeable, loving home where he’ll continue to be slowly and sympathetically produced. He’s a big softie who thrives on human interaction and would suit someone wanting a quality allrounder with a solid foundation to build upon.
He’s great around dogs, cats, and children — has even had kids sit on him bareback with no issues. Could easily see him being someone’s best mate, family horse, or future show partner.
Homes will be vetted — finding the right match is my top priority, and I don’t want him being passed from pillar to post.
Currently priced at £8,750

Please note this will increase as his training continues.

Jess

Dotty (Dothan Natasha) is a beautiful shire mare who has a gorgeous personality to match! Loves people and attention and enjoys a good groom!

We’ve allowed her to mature slowly and has had lots of groundwork and desensitisation in readiness for the big world. She’s had a bridle and saddle on and has been walked out on roads - nothing has phased her at all! She followed and lead with no issues. She has been sat on and walked around so she’s ready to step it up now!

She’s only for sale as she’s just not getting enough attention as one of four horses. She’d love to have her person to dote on her every wish. She is very gentle and keen to please.

She currently lives out and comes in daily for a feed, fuss and a bit of work. She comes to call and brings herself in. She’s currently barefoot with good feet. Up to date with farrier, dentist and physio.

Could make wonderful brood mare. Open to any inspection.

  • Lovely private home with unlimited forestry hacking

Wanted new best friend for older lady rider who enjoys hacking out in forestry , fun rides (often accompanying small children with pony club)

Bombproof unflappable type that enjoys hacking alone and in company.

15.2/3 ish not too slight needs to take up the leg and not mind a slightly cautious rider, someone not madly forward going .

My last horse has recently retired at age 30 and all my horses want for nothing. Must enjoy a fuss and load onto a Renault side loading van.

Must be good in rural traffic, narrow lanes with mainly tractors

Stabled at home with lots of company

I don’t do much road work.

Cwmgwyrdd golden lady - OPEN TO SENSIBLE OFFERS

A lovely dun yearling filly, she was a early foal being born January 2024 to make between 14hh and 14.2hh

Out of faidre lady may, a direct daughter of cascob jack flash
By hillgarth maxxy's ghost, a direct son of hwylog ivanhoe

This filly has been out all summer and rubbed some of her mane. I have a feeling she has sweetitch (NOT CONFIRMED BY VET), she has been stabled for that last month with daily turned out and she has stopped rubbing, if sweetitch this would be manageable with daily care.

Has the potential to be a top class SHP. A really easy yearling to do everything with.

I don't know what she would be like to box as was born with me. Only forsale as reducing number, please feel free to contact at any time. If no answer please send a message

A really good stamp, with a leg in each corner, currently bare-foot. He still has some growing, as he is bum high.

Broken slowly over the summer and is hacking out on country lanes and open country. Hacks alone and in company and brilliant in traffic.

He is very laid back, chilled, and takes everything in his stride. Loves people, fuss and attention.

A very easy horse to have around, runs to you to be caught, good with farrier and bath.

He is an ideal weight- carrier/ family share.

ALFIE

Gorgeous 2019 15hh registered Highland. Alfie has been in the same home since a foal, he is a kind, friendly and sweet on the ground. Alfie has three lovely paces, he’s comfortable and steady, will ride off your voice or your aids and he’s trustworthy and easy in every way, such a safe, happy, laid back chap. Alfie has done fun rides, been to the forest, river, and has done most riding club activities, he also has a few showing classes under his belt.

Alfie will turn his hoof to any job, he’s easy. He has plenty of promise with his jumping, unbothered by coloured fillers or rustic fences, a nice pop in him and will help his pilot out, he will jump from a trot or canter off any stride and doesn’t mind if his rider is wobbly or nervous.

Alfie is fantastic in traffic and he hacks alone and in company, he’s been excellent here with the farm machinery, nothing seems to bother him. Super sane and sensible in open spaces. A nice horse for someone to go out tomorrow and have fun with. Open to any vet or trainer £10500

You will never find another horse like Louie. Fully registered shire with the shire society and has recorded breeding. ACLE breed line. He is a big friendly giant, true to his breed.

He is the soppiest horse who is extremely friendly and affectionate.

You can literally run under him and he doesn’t ever moan. He is one of a kind.

Good for farrier, dentist and loading. Loads first time every time. 19hh. He’s been out of regular work for the past couple months and has lost some condition. Needs to build up top line but that’s nothing and will come with regular work.

He is good with my kids, good with dogs, lifts his feet up himself when picking - literally tap him and he lifts.

No vices at all. Never done anything nasty. Would suit RDA / Novice rider. Great to hack. Completely bombproof on the road. Will go past noisy machinery, tractors, cyclists, heavy traffic, large Lorrie’s, motorbikes, NOTHING phases him. I will be very sad to see him go.

This horse I dont believe will come around again, his personality is something that everyone wants.

He is like a person and will only be going to a 10* home.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

I’ve owned rhubarb since she was a foal. She’s been my bestie since we met. I love and adore her but I started competing show jumping last year and recently started jumping amateurs so needed something a lot finer and sportier to get the heights. I ended up with more horses than planned and unfortunately this has meant she’s not getting the time and attention she deserves.

She’s the safe happy hacker I can chuck my husband or friend on for a nice safe ride but then also get on myself and pick up the pace a bit more and have some fun with. She doesn’t need to be in regular work to stay safe either she can be dragged in any time and hacked out and she will behave like you’ve ridden yesterday.

She’s great in open spaces, with water crossings etc. She loads and travels well and will go off on fun rides and beach rides happily. She schools nicely, a little green but pops a course of jumps around 70cm and will do an intro dressage test. I’m not really into dressage to have tried but I’m sure would do the others to make a nice low level / unaffiliated all rounder type.

She’d be ace for hunting this season for someone wanting a safe horse to do some of the smaller jumps on or just chill on the non jumping routes. She’d equally be a great happy hacker for someone wanting a safe bestie to just enjoy a steady life with. She’d also be a great teenagers horse or mother daughter share for someone wanting to get going a bit for some jumping up to around 75/80cm with, cross country etc as she does enjoy a little pop around a course and doesn’t shy at xc style stuff. She’s not a total plod but is very safe and sane. I think she’d also be a good contender for some show cob classes!

She’s a fab mare and I only want her to go to the best of forever homes. It’s been a really hard decision and I’ve changed my mind so many times about this but I just want her to be loved as much as she deserves. She loves being brought in every night and made a fuss of. She will live in or out 24/7, even through the winter.

She’s great for all the usual stuff, feet, teeth, to load etc. she’s a good hardy type who will live on thin air as long as there’s a few polos and a cuddle coming her way. She’s regularly ridden by my friend’s 13 year old daughter in the school and she manages her lovely.

I could go on and on about how amazing she is, she has no vices. Please only get in Touch if you want a horse to keep for life and are happy to keep in touch as I’m really struggling with letting her go. I often have projects in over the summer but rhubarb has always been my horse to stay and so I’m really attached to her.

Smokey

Lovely smart cob that has lots of Hunting and SJ experience in Ireland.

Great family or RS type as she is up to weight but is active and light to ride.

Smokey is a very good jumper and she has done lots of training shows in Ireland and happy to showjump or to do a day XC - she is bold and brave and will go in and out of water, logs, rails, ditches etc.

Great to hack out and will go alone or in a group, and she is not fazed by the heaviest of traffic.

Smokey loves attention and is happy to stand and be groomed and pampered!

A really super old fashioned type and she has a great personality - always happy to do her best to please!

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a stunning young Traditional Cob mare who is destined for big things. She has all the attributes to be a winner whether that’s between the boards or in the show ring. Confirmationally she’s very well put together, beautifully marked and so eye catching. She really is a beautiful girl.

Patchy has the most fantastic paces, they are bold and flashy, making her turn heads! She is very well schooled for her age, proving to be very trainable and an absolute pleasure to ride. She is the one that we all fight over who’s going to ride her every day and is definitely a yard favourite! She has so much potential and would be a fantastic prospect for Petplans.

Patchy has just started jumping and will pop round a small course, totally unfazed by fillers. She has plenty of scope and would be a contender for BD CT Championships!

At home, she is a complete pleasure to have around on the yard. She is vice free, hacks alone and in company, 100% to catch, load, farrier ect.

Very reluctantly I am offering my native filly.

By Barleyfield Murphy’s Law x Friesian mare. Reg TGCA

To make a large native show type to make 15.2. Very well marked. Lovely mover and temperament. This filly has the loveliest of fronts with a good length of rein.

Well handled in all ways.

One for the future as a large native horse. Not many like this come on the market but due to my personal circumstances I am cutting back.

Will only sell to a competitive home.

Hugo is a lovely pony, we have owned him since a yearling. He was backed last year and turned away, has come back fantastic this spring. Lovely soft mouth and schooling well in all three paces, he loves to please and is a real head turner.

Has been shown locally in hand, and won every time out in good company. Will be a definite contender for toys and fabulous all rounder.

He is a great second pony, and not your typical kick along cob he is forward going and flashy.

He went to his first country ride this week and loved it, remaining safe and sensible even when galloping in a large group.

Serious enquiries only.

SD PacMan - 2024 future stud / show prospect to make approx 14’2hh.

PacMan was born and bred here by the world famous SD Cobs/DixieDownMeadows. TGCA assured breeders and winners of the TGCA breeders/stud of the year.

Needless to say he is bred to perfection with many greats throughout his lineage.

He is being offered sensibly priced to the right home, we would love to see him out in the show ring and or future stud for someone’s approved breeding program as he has all the qualities to make an outstanding stallion. That being said if the right home meant him needing to be gelded that could also be arranged.

He has an amazing temperament ( you wouldn’t know he is a colt) and is easy to handle in ways, good to catch, load, wash, farrier etc. Fully wormed etc upto date.

Viewings welcomed. Any further questions please call.
