Ladies and gentleman, I give you Castlelawn Arcady Mist (aka Mr T)
Registered Irish Draught
This super smart chap is an absolute head turner. He has 3 good, strong, rhythmical paces and a huge scopey jump. He is active and responsive.
He is a big fella, carries himself nicely, is forwards and responsive and does a good dressage test. It is a bit like sitting on a Sherman tank with power steering and a GTI engine!
And then the jump..... you would never think that a horse of his stamp would be this athletic. The bigger the fence, the better he likes it. He takes you into a fence without being silly, doesn't bat an eyelid at any filler, all you need to do is sit, steer and look pretty! He easily has the scope to do BS, currently has no money on his card so would quickly work his way up. Has enough jump to do Newcomers and possibly more with the right rider.
Cross country he is an absolute machine, ditches, water, banks, steps, his huge stride just eats them up, he makes any fence look and feel small. He would laugh in the face of BE 90 and 100 and quite possibly would be locking onto the bigger options and wondering why he was being asked to step over those piffling small objects!
Mr T has been well hunted in Ireland, although he would need someone who doesn't want to just tiddle along at the back!!
He is a great hack in company, the more work you can give him the more he loves life, out on his own he needs a confident rider and then he is great. He rides and leads really well, you can even have a canter while he is being lead.
Mr T is a pleasure to have on the yard, he lives in or out, is happy out in the field on his own or in a herd, he's cheap to run, has a lovely kind temperament, loves fuss and cuddles, lives in or out, has no vices. He is great to catch, can be led in with a bunch of his pals, loads well and stands tied up to the lorry at shows, is good with the farrier and to clip (I sometimes put the twitch on to do his lower legs and one ear ??) and I've no problems with traffic that I've seen with him.
He really is a SERIOUS horse. He will hunt, event, sj, he loves cross country rides, and he also has the looks, paces and jump to excel as a Working Hunter.
HOWEVER.... he is a big strong lad. I do everything with him in a snaffle but he would need more brakes out hunting. He will NOT be sold to a 'competent novice' or anyone lacking experience or confidence.
This is a sad sale, he has not had a day sick or sorry in the time I have had him and a loving, active home is a must.
Please have a look at my FB page 'Kerrie Fleming Horses' for more reports and pictures of him and give me a call on 07888 675300 if you want to have a chat. Mr T and I are based near Marlborough, SN4 9QF
