9 year old, 14.1hh registered highland mare. Grey dun colour.

Poppy has been with us for 4 years and worked in our riding school, which we closed this Spring - hence reason for sale. She was ridden by a wide range of riders from 10 year olds learning to canter to BHS exam candidates.

The main photo shows her with post it notes stuck to her body during Pony Club camp last year learning points of the pony!

She is a good natured and kind pony that is an easy ride. She has a lovely bold forward attitude on the flat and over fences. She is not a stuffy ploddy highland for anyone who thinks they have a stereotype - she is off the leg and is forward thinking.

She has hacked alone and in company and is not phased by any traffic - the video is totally realistic as that is the bottom of our driveway!

In the school she took part in a huge range of activities including horseball, polocrosse, musical rides, mock hunts. We have shown her at Equifest and she has attended the Pony Club Championships. She's recently been schooled around BE XC courses with a rider who had never sat on her before. Good with ditches/steps/water, going away from other horses, etc.

She has no sign of sweetitch, never had laminitis, never required additional hard food and will live out all year round - or you can winter her in fully clipped if desired. Has been turned out in large (20+) mixed herds and is sociable with both mares and geldings. She comes out of the stable the same if she has been ridden every day or once a week. Travelled in horseboxes and trailers.

I would love her to go to a competitive, busy and fun home - she could be ridden by any member of the family and likes to lead a varied and active lifestyle. Pony Club camp ready! She's not a pure showing pony although she would eat up a workers course.

We are on the Leicestershire / Derbyshire borders, with good trial facilities.

(Rider in video is 5'10''!)

Lochlands Silver Springs – 6 year old gelding by Whitefield Prince Platinum, out of Lochlands Silver Flute. Show quality, approx 13:2hh with loads of bone and ground covering stride. Did very well in hand as a baby and won and was placed last year.

Great to hack alone and in company. Bold and not-spooky. He hasn’t done very much in the school as he was needing some encouragement to canter, so has been allowed to mature mainly hacking. He is very light in the mouth and naturally carries himself well. He enjoys going to the forest, so would love to do pleasure rides and I am sure would hunt as he has also popped some small jumps. Can easily be left for weeks and got straight on.

He has been ridden by a variety of ages and abilities, but realistically not suitable for a novice or small child as he is still young, and although he is very good to lead he can sometimes be a fidget when asked to stand still. He would suit someone who shares his love of hacking or someone with a bit of experience to bring on and also do some shows.

He is easy to do, clip, load, catch etc. Barefoot. Happy to be in/out by himself. No lumps/bumps or health issues. Fully vaccinated.

He is for sale or loan from my yard in Suffolk. Home more important than the price. Full wardrobe available.

By Blair Atholl of Whitefield out of Trowan Mishka

Mercury was purchased by us as a 2 year old from the Trowan Stud and left to mature slowly and has had a novice ridden career finishing 4th in the Picon final. Also shown lightly in hand, including Royal Windsor this year where he as fantastically behaved in a huge mixed class with mares and foals.

Brilliant around the yard where he lives with 2 other mature stallions and 3 mares, good on the lorry and to bath, clip etc. Loves a cuddle and a brush!

This is a heartbreaking sale preferably to a showing home where his fantastic bloodlines, showing potential and rare colour can be utilised.

He is sadly being wasted here and reluctantly we feel that it is in his best interest to sell him.

This young mare was backed last year and hacked out through the winter alone and in company.

She is easy to do in all ways clip.bath.vet.farrier(barefoot).

Has done very little since as we have other ponies that need our attention too.

Sadly she has two small splints that may well go as they are fairly new.

She would benefit from a home that can further her education.
