Blue Chip 2015 Round Up

The Blue Chip Winter Show Jumping Championships – HorseQuest Round Up

What a fantastic five days of competition – a massive well done to all who managed to qualify for the HorseQuest Coral, Sapphire and Novice Championships.

Here’s a brief summary of our winners:

HorseQuest UK Novice Championship

Heather Broad riding Caretina II BFZ fought off stiff competition to take home the honours in the HorseQuest Novice Championship.

Commenting on the result, Heather explained “It was a great achievement, Caretina II BFZ, who is known as Tina at home, is only six years old and I’ve had her since she was 4. She was bought through Julian Mincher, who trains me and was supporting me on the day - I am really grateful for all his assistance! Tina was amazing, I didn't realise either of us could go that fast!”

HorseQuest UK Sapphire Championship

The HorseQuest Sapphire Championship was secured by 13 year old Berkshire based, Lauren Roach and Westcoast Express, an 8 year old mare owned by Kerry Grimster and breeder Paul Kelly. The pair previously qualified for the Championships at Addington Manor.

"It feels amazing. I was a bit nervous as it was a really fast jump off.” Explained an overjoyed Lauren

Joint owner Kerry went on to explain “We had a great Pony of the Year Show with a first and second place, so we decided not to compete in the Sparkle class here and instead concentrate on the HorseQuest Sapphire - and luckily it’s paid off.”

HorseQuest UK Coral Championship

15 year old Sophie Bennett and Killy Colour Code came out victorious in the HorseQuest UK Coral Championship. Sophie has been riding nine-year-old Killy Colour Code for the last four years and this is one of their biggest wins to date.

“Colour Code had jumped in a few Foxhunter classes when we bought him, but I hadn’t done much at all he brought me on,” says Sophie, who comes from Jersey.

Again well done to all our winners and we can’t wait to see you next year!
