Frankel’s first Filly has landed

The filly, who is currently unnamed, is out of a mare called Song, and was born at the National Stud in Newmarket at 5.30pm on Sunday, 19th January

This is the second foal to be born to the unbeaten Flat ledged, who has already sired a colt at the Coolmore Stud in Tipperary, Ireland, out of the five-times-winning mare Chrysanthemum.

Frankel, trained by the late Sir Henry Cecil, completed his glorious racing career in 2012 after winning 14 races from 14 starts. He now stands at Juddmonte Farms Banstead Manor Stud near Newmarket and commands a stud fee of £125,000.

This is Frankels first breeding season and so far he has covered 133 mares, of which 126 have been confirmed in foal
