Approx 15.1 hh chestnut mare welsh cob by Llanllugan Mikes Lad and Ebbw Sian by Ebbw Prince.

She is just turned 19, she is sound and passed a 5 stage vetting, she still have lots to give and very willing to have fun.

We have took her out to a show jumping competition and xc schooling. She travelled and behaved well away from the yard. She is a fun horse to ride with good and correct paces, a good tecnique and attitude over fences. She has jumped up to 80-85cm with plenty of scope. She is forward going especially with the jumping and would suit an intermediate rider who wants to have some fun.

She had a showing career in the past and has been to the Royal Welsh Show in 2012 and 2013.

She hacks alone and in company, she is good with farrier, vets, clip and to catch. She lives in or out. Genuine reason for selling. Open to vetting.

  • Very special boy

Steel has competed BS up to foxhunter in his younger days. In the last three years has been competing BS 90 and also on the winning Norfolk Academy team Aug 2023.

He is a very honest and forward ride. Bold to a jump and will go off any stride. Schools nicely on the flat in all 3 paces

He has also done BE and excels in XC.

Very good to hack, non spooky and good in traffic.

Very well mannered, will stand patiently on the lorry at a show.

Good to shoe, bath and load. Does need sedating to be clipped.

Although Steel is now 20 years old he still has a lot to give to his next capable jockey.

I would ideally like him to go to a pony club home or someone wanting to do unaffiliated up to 90cm.

We are looking for the best home for this very special boy, all previous owners are still in touch.

Includes all tack and rugs.

Timmy is the most delightful and charming horse, and it breaks my heart to be putting him on the market, but he has so many years of competition left in him, and whilst I've had so much fun competing with BD and SJ with him, my heart lies in eventing.

A true professional, who behaves impeccably at every show, still loves to jump but deserves to take life at a more relaxed pace.

Timmy retired from his eventing career last year and since then continued to teach me a whole new category of riding in dressage. Winning two Novice classes and second in another in our first outings this year, giving 100% between the boards, showing he has the scope to go higher. He nearly always led the dressage out eventing, with his best mark being 77%

A stable favourite, beautifully mannered, good to hack, shoe, clip, load, and travel (trailer or box)

Timmy really is a one in a million horse, and I would love him to retire with me, but I feel he has so many years of competition left in him and deserves to go to a home where he can continue going out and winning, as this is what he really loves.

This is a truly heart-breaking decision, and will only be go to a 5* home.

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

Lovely Thoroughbred Mare Suitable for Low-Intensity Ridden Work

Ref #: 341471

  • All round school master with experience in dressage and jumping
  • Suitable for someone who wants to do low-intensity ridden work, poles, small jumps, or hacking

Lily is an absolutely fantastic sweet horse who I have owned for over 10 years, and I am very sadly having to sell because I no longer have time to ride her. She was ridden in dressage (up to Medium), did show jumping and eventing in her younger years.

She has no lameness issues, but had a health issue about 6 years ago (guttural pouch mycosis) which means she can no longer do super high-intensity work (i.e. no competing). She is fully recovered from this apart from not being able to sustain a heavy work for long periods of time.

Currently, she is turned out most of the year with young stock, and is very sociable with other horses. She has not been ridden for the last 4 months, but has been in and out of light work over the last few years. She is fine to ride out of the field as long as her workload is gradually increased over the course of a month or so to get her fitness up.

Lily would be a great horse for someone who would like to increase their riding ability with a sweet, safe, and responsive older horse, and/or who would like to go out and do some hacking (she prefers to be hacked with other horses, but it otherwise very good hacker). She would also be happy to be a companion, or a horse used for groundwork in equine therapy .

My main concern is getting Lily to the right home that will be able to give her high quality care year-round. As a thoroughbred, she does need hard feed to supplement her grazing/hay, and she needs rugs in the winter etc, and so cannot simply be left in a field.

  • Ideal retired polo pony to "train" young polo player(s), safe and fun but with terrific skill
  • Has been hunting for last 5+ years.
  • Phenomenal calm character, but full of ability and skill.

Very kind, gentle and easy to do mare in the stable, on the ground and happily leads 2-3 other horses. Nothing phases her; clip, shoe, box, stand for hours, you name it. Turned her into a hunting horse after she retired from polo (due to player retiring and going into coaching).

Happy stabled, or turned out, easy to do, can be left in her stable on her own and likewise paddock, equally easy turned out with others.

She took to hunting beautifully, having never seen uneven, or 'tricky' terrain, she took to it sensationally. Will go up the steepest of escarpments, to boggy terrain, water, deep water crossings, unfazed by other horses, hounds etc. Very intelligent and knows what her job is, whether a new one or an old one.
Never kicks, or bucks, or rears.

Looking for a lovely home for her now as too many commitments with young horses and work in London, giving us very limited time in the country and work now includes travel abroad for the next few months.

Price is negotiable to the right home. She has so many talents, she could do anything, but must go to a home which is knowledgable and private. Would suit a young family with competent mother/father, or young aspiring polo player (eg teenagers wanting to ride something with proper skill to help "teach").

Equally she's been a super 'nanny' out hunting, safe and steady anywhere in the field.

  • Amazing cob mare
  • been used in riding school
  • good to hack

We are sadly considering selling our amazing mare as we no longer have a job for her.

She has been with us for 13 years and is just so sweet and deserves the best of homes.

She has been a family horse as well as teaching many people to ride. She will step it up for a more experienced rider or be a steady ride for a novice to learn on. Good to hack in traffic and through the woods. Will live in a herd happily or happy to be stabled at night with no vices.

She is very sweet natured. Has her own tack. Her only issue is her legs will need to be continued to be clipped and maintained as we do. (common practice in cobs) Can discuss this if interested. She enjoys low level jumping too. Only to be sold if a suitable home who can love her and devote time to her. She has never had a hard days work in her life, never had any lameness issues.

Please phone, Staffs.
