After suffering an accident I am now ready 18 months on, to find my new life long special friend to get me back into riding. I am now 50 so nothing too sporty!
Please no full thoroughbreds or wide HW cobs/traditionals
I am searching for:
Approx 15hh Gelding
No smaller than Full Up 14.2hh and max 15.2hh
I would prefer a gelding as I am on a gelding yard, but if the right horse is a mare, must be very non mareish
The sort of horse I am looking for to regain my confidence is the type which could be a first horse, been there and done it. My horsey, now non-riding husband will also be handling him - no nasty quirks please
I will be looking to just hack for a few months while I rebuild my confidence, but my goal is to get back into riding club activities/sponsored rides
Criteria I am looking for:
Been there and got the t-shirt type horse, genuine all rounder. Ideal age 10 to 14. Nothing that needs bringing on or schooling. We have no school at the yard, can ride in my fields and have jumps in it. I cannot have anything that Bucks/Rears/Naps/Bolts or anything else nasty - I need just a really safe horse
100% to hack both alone & in company, happy to be first or last. Not the strong/competitive type - happy just to go along at a steady pace. I want to be able to hack out safely on my own and in company. Must not be the spooky type and the same if ridden once a week or every day.I am happy with forward going as long as safe and does not jog - (do not want a plod)
It is very important that this horse be used to Farm Machinery and Farm Animals on a regular basis - especially sheep, cows and dogs, so ideally near or from a working farm. Also we would meet big grain lorries occasionally. Polite & mannerly on the ground and in the stable, good with farrier and upto date with vaccinations/teeth/back checks/worming etc
This horse must not have any known health issues - I will be wanting a 5 Stage Vetting, and to fully insure it
Needs to load easily into trailer and lorry and be happy to stand tied up if at shows or competitions. For the right horse I can offer a life long, very loving home, will not be sold on (references can be given on our care and home for this horse). Lovely stables & grazing with two other ponies. Will be kept at a small low key yard, so no horses which are only used to big and busy yards. Will also want to ride and lead my granddaughter occasionally.
If you think you might have this horse and are a genuine owner wanting a life long home for your special horse, then please email me with FULL information in the first instance
I will not buy from any dealer and you need to have owned this horse for a minimum of 2 years, preferably with known history.
Sensible budget for right horse and ideally within 2 1/2 hour drive from Central South Coast
Thank you for taking the time to read this and hope there is someone out there going to email me with this special horse.
