Introducing Fred – a truly beautiful 5-year-old skewbald gelding standing at a perfect 15.2hh. Fred is a striking, well-put-together horse who turns heads wherever he goes. With his distinctive colouring and elegant build, he combines both beauty and talent in one impressive package.

Fred has already had a taste of the hunting field, having hunted twice, and also has experience in driving, showing his versatility and calm temperament. He is a super mover with a naturally flowing, eye-catching trot and a smooth, comfortable canter that makes him a joy to ride. He works softly in a snaffle, carries himself in a lovely outline, and shows real potential for the show ring thanks to his elegant paces and balance.

In the jumping arena, Fred continues to shine. He has been jumping confidently over 90cm here, with the quality and scope to go higher. His jumping technique is impressive – neat, careful, and honest – making him an absolute pleasure to ride into a fence. Whether you’re looking for a horse to enjoy show jumping, eventing, or cross-country, Fred has all the ingredients to excel. He has been schooled over cross-country fences and proves to be brave and bold, showing both talent and willingness in every session.

Fred’s temperament is just as outstanding as his abilities. He is a kind, gentle, and affectionate horse who always comes up to greet you in the field. He loves attention and cuddles, making him a true yard favourite and a pleasure to have around. His calm and easy-going nature makes him an ideal candidate for a novice rider, a mother-daughter share, or even a riding school. He would also be perfectly suited to a happy hacking home or anyone looking to enjoy riding club level activities in any discipline.

Out hacking, Fred is extremely reliable both alone and in company. He is confident in traffic and used to all types of farm machinery, showing his level-headed and sensible nature. He is quiet and straightforward in all aspects – easy to catch, shoe, box, clip, and handle in all situations.

Fred is an ideal all-rounder with no stable vices and is open to any vetting. He is the type of horse that is very hard to find – safe, talented, and with a wonderful attitude towards work and people alike.

The price includes delivery and export fees directly to your yard in the UK, and we also offer an exchange option if, for any reason, you’re not completely happy.

To see Fred in action, scroll down to view his video. If you’d like more information, don’t hesitate to call me any time at +353 86 807 7626 or email me at gertytynan@gmail.com. Fred is ready to find his forever home – could it be with you?

DO YOU HAVE A HORSE OR PONY SUITABLE FOR THE RDA?

WANTED ON LONG TERM LOAN / PURCHASE

Ref #: 249896
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below
  • If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below

One of the main issues that RDA groups face is finding an Equine to suit the needs of the participants in their group.

We are regularly contacted with offers of Equines that are ‘the ideal RDA horse or pony’ when actually what is ideal for one group may not be for the next. We are trying to move away from the stereotypical view that RDA Equines are elderly and somewhat static, our horses and ponies need to be fit, healthy and athletic to cope with the lifestyle in an RDA group.

They can range from smaller, forward going ponies to weight carrying cobs and can take part in a range of disciplines from Riding to Carriage Driving, Vaulting to Show Jumping and Endurance.

If you contact an RDA Group about your Equine please be prepared to fill in an Equine Initial Interest Form which will ask you many questions about your horses’ temperament, health history, experience and lifestyle. Many groups will prefer to have an equine on trial to make sure they are suitable for the job.

For long term loans and purchases they will also be required to have a Pre-Purchase Examination.

If you think your equine has what it takes, please contact one of the groups below.

16.2 13yo Irish draught x Friesian gelding

Tornado is the most fun horse with the biggest personality. He absolutely loves life , loves work and is looking for someone to match his enthusiasm.

Tornado is an incredibly impressive horse , he gets comments everywhere he goes. He's naturally uphill and works beautifully on the flat. He's been to unaffiliated dressage with good scores and promising comments. He's naturally balanced and has cadence in abundance.

He has been to jumping clinics and lessons as well as arena cross country. Tornado loves to jump. He's super brave to a fence - doesn't look at fillers etc. His enthusiasm to a fence is unmatched and he always takes you to the jump , will jump off any stride.

Hacks alone or in company - good in traffic but needs a bit of support passing the big stuff.

Good in open spaces. Loves the beach and LOVES water. I've never met a horse quite like it with his love for water.

Tornado has had an easy life - growing up in the hills of wales and has been in the same low level home since he was 5. Mainly hacking and clinics but in the last year has increased his schooling and jumping and is absolutely thriving.

Tornado is not suitable for a novice, he's a big lad who knows his strength and can get strong , although we only ever ride him in a snaffle and if you stop pulling he stops but he would play on someone's nerves. (A novice could hack him in company)

A great horse to have on the yard - he's a real character and everyone loves him. This isn't at all an easy decision.

Polly is an exceptional ride and drive. She's one of the softest horses we have had. A real yard favourite.

She is a super hack and will go first or last. She's super in open spaces and isn't bothered by the heaviest traffic.

Super gentle on the ground with impeccable manners.  Always good to catch. Great with farrier. We haven't clipped her but have run the clippers over her.

Bilbo is a gorgeous 3 year old cob gelding. He is broken and riding away. This super boy has been out cross country schooling and showed loads of potential. He would be a lovely intermediate or working hunter.

Bilbo would also excel in any discipline asked of him.

He is quiet to hack out on the road and in the fields.

Bilbo has super ground and stable manners. He is up to date with the farrier, dentist etc.

I am looking for the best home for this boy to further his education. Bilbo will make someone very happy as he is a fun little pony to have around.

We are based in the wicklow area

Rookery Sion is the sweetest most affectionate pony on the ground and will stand all day to be groomed by a child including picking feet and brushing main and tail. He loads and travels very well, stands well for the farrier and has grown more confident with bathing.
Sion lives off fresh air and is bare foot with no stable vices.

Previously shown by young adult and taken on lead rein farm rides with a 7 year old, passing farm animals and machinery without any fuss.

He would excel both in hand showing or ridden, with an experienced rider. He has the potential to be a lovely childs pony, however he isn't quite ready for that job yet and it shows up when having to navigate the unexpected, he requires further education.
Although backed in 2024 and ridden for the last 12 months by a young adult, he has been sent away to schooling livery to further his education.
Sion is spooky and nervous which is why he is not yet suitable as a LR/FR/Childs pony, he doesn't buck or rear but is still very green and will only go to a patient and knowledgable home. He will require his education to be continued by an experienced adult in his new home.

He will only go to a 5 star home and refrences may be requested.
Please do not enquire if you are looking for a finished product First Ridden or Lead Rein type pony, unless you are intending to bring him on for that purpose.
Children will not be permitted to ride at any viewings for the reasons stated above.

He has previously hunted and was a driving pony.

Will make a lovely Mother/Son/Daughter share. Ideal for Pony club/Riding Club for small adult or teenager. Would suit more of a one-to-one connection.

  • Stunning 16hh, 12yo, Spanish Gelding – Dressage Schoolmaster
A rare opportunity to own a beautifully trained and kind-hearted 12-year-old Spanish gelding standing at 16hh.

This elegant horse is an absolute gem for someone looking to learn, progress, or enjoy the art of classical dressage with a true schoolmaster. Karlito also knows how to drive a cart & on the ground is good to do in all ways, he’s a very affectionate boy.

Karlito is well-versed in a wide range of lateral and collected movements, making him a dream to ride and learn on. His repertoire includes:

Shoulder-In
Travers & Renvers
Leg Yield
Half Pass
Spanish Walk
Passage
Pirouettes
All medium-level movements with the beginnings of collection
Bow

He’s the perfect partner for a competent rider who wants to refine their skills and feel, with a horse that knows his job and offers every movement with ease.

He is a responsive, expressive horse who thrives with a rider that enjoys feeling and working with their horse. Whilst generally straightforward, he can be spooky at times, so he suits a rider who can feel what’s happening underneath them and ride with quiet confidence. You can tell when he’s about to spook, he gives you fair warning, and it’s more about connection than correction.

True to his Spanish heritage, he is intelligent, forward-thinking, and always willing to work. He is soft in the contact, easy off the leg, and works well in both snaffle and double bridle. Comfortable to sit and a joy to train, he would suit an ambitious amateur, aspiring young rider, or someone who wants to enjoy real dressage without the pressure of competition.

Karlito is seen on sales livery in lingfield Surrey. He has been in his current home for the past four years since being imported where he has been in very light work and we have helped his owner learn to ride with our tuition. Sadly they have decided to sell as ultimately he is too much horse for them and will be coming with his fitted £3k dressage saddle.

He is open to vetting and has no injuries or health issues. Since being with us the past 3 weeks Karlitos ridden work has improved significantly, already showing great progress and willingness. With continued correct training, he will only get better — and shows real promise for developing piaffe with ease. He’s naturally talented, intelligent, and incredibly teachable.?

If you’re looking for a schoolmaster with flair, feel, and plenty still to give – this special boy could be your perfect match.
