Top class Blagdon traditional cob

Ref #: 410928

  • Fabulous mover and good length of rein
  • Great presence with 'look at me' quality
  • He would suit a competent home producer or professional

Colin is a 15hh (153cm ) 5 yr old traditional Blagdon cob gelding .

I bought him as a just backed 3 yr old for my daughter to show , she then decided to go traveling ! I kept him as he needed time to mature and is is such a super type and easy to have around. Fast forward and I started him again putting in lots of ground work , he was so easy , riding nicely, has never bucked , reared or napped but is very green .

His progress has been cut short due to illness in the family and my daughter Is unable to ride .

Colin has the best feather I’ve seen on a cob , from the back of his knee , straight and silky and loads of it , he’s got plenty of bone , clean through his hocks and no lumps , bumps or extras . He would potentially strip out but I’ll leave that to his new owner to make that decision.

Colin sits up and looks through the bridle , fabulous mover and good length of rein . Great presence with ‘look at me ‘ quality .

He’s content being in or out without company and equally happy out with mares ( I don’t have any other geldings .

He is vice free , teeth, vaccines , feet ( bare foot ) all up to date . He is currently not in work and this is reflected in his price . He is far from being established but I truly believe that a few weeks back into a routine of work he would be flying ( not literally)

He would suit a competent home producer or professional. No novices or nervous Nellie’s , hes young and a novice , id hate to see him ruined by inexperienced hands as he’s got so much potential. Hes a sweet boy , lovely kind temperament a if he was a year younger id keep him but he needs a job . Happy to answer any questions but i wont reply to texts.

Searching For A Family Friend / Allrounder To Enjoy Hacking, Pleasure Rides, & Low Level Adventures

Ref #: 410902
  • Full Up 14.2 - 15hh Max. Age 8-14 yrs
  • A Gentle Natured, Polite Character
  • Lightweight Cob / Connemara Or Similar Type
  • Full Up 14.2 - 15hh Max. Age 8-14 yrs
  • A Gentle Natured, Polite Character
  • Lightweight Cob / Connemara Or Similar Type

I am searching for a trustworthy, best friend type to welcome to our kind, knowledgeable, family home. Our horses are treated as part of our family & they receive the absolute best of care. I would be happy to provide references & to keep in touch.

I have ridden for several years & consider myself a knowledgeable & capable rider. However, due to ongoing health issues with my horse, who is now retired, I haven’t ridden as consistently in more recent years & so I am no longer as confident as I once was. Therefore, I am seeking a laid back, best friend type, who does not need riding most days to remain safe & sane (realistically, I will generally ride 3-4 times a week).

We will be enjoying fun hacks from home, attending organised pleasure rides, forest trips, XC schooling & some clinics. I will at times want to hack alone but will also hack alongside my young daughter on her (sometimes quirky!) horse, so it is especially important that I find a level-headed, trustworthy type who I can depend on. Due to us going out in our horsebox regularly, I would like to find a horse who is good to load / travel &, most importantly, who remains calm & polite to handle & ride in different environments.

Our horses are kept at home with us & have all year turnout (stabled overnight during winter). I would love to find a gentle natured, polite character & a true best friend type.

We live in a rural area & although we generally meet very little traffic, when we do, it is often likely to be a tractor/farm vehicle. Therefore, it is hugely important that my new horse is confident around this type of traffic.

* I do appreciate that no horse is ‘perfect’ & that ‘bombproof’ does not exist & I am open to compromise, but please do just be honest about any possible known ‘issues’ as I will not buy unseen & would want to have any potential horse vetted *

We are based in Norfolk so ideally looking for something in or around East Anglia but would travel further if plenty of info, videos/photos could be provided beforehand. I have a sensible budget & very relaxed & loving forever home for the right horse.

CHARLIE DOMINO - FAB ALLROUNDER

  • Skewbald

  • Gone on hunts including bloodhounds drag hunts
  • Perfect Riding Club all - rounder
  • Would suit a competent mother daughter share

Tommy is currently based with us at The Talland School of Equitation, where he has been an all round school horse for the last 2 years, ridden by students and clients up to Stage 3 level. He is sadly for sale on her behalf, as she has a young family and doesnt have the time he deserves.

Prior to this, he has been a family horse done a bit of everything low level, gone on hunts including bloodhounds drag hunts, has jumped everything asked of him. Competed unaffiliated dressage, show jumping and cross country has gone to xc, show jumping training, hacks alone or company.
We don’t hack out very much at Talland, but with his owner is fine in company, out hacking alone takes confidence from rider or someone on ground. Prior to coming to us, he was also in riding school for a year with Widbrook EC.

He lives in or out, with us is turned out in a herd and is very settled.

He would be most suited to a home where he will be kept busy, and have a varied lifestyle, perfect Riding Club all - rounder. He wouldn’t suit a happy hacking home, or a beginner home.

He has a fab temperament, and will make someone a great fun friend. Would suit a competent mother daughter share. He is good to handle on the ground, good to clip, trim, shoe etc. Good with the vet.

Please feel free to email, call or text for more info.

Genuine enquiries only please, no timewasters.

Beautiful chunk of a boy, will suit happy hacking, hunting, funrides or even riding school. Will go around the school but not really a ‘schooled’ horse.

Bob has the most fantastic temperament, anyone can do anything with him, falls asleep being clipped, hacks alone & in company, bombproof in the heaviest of traffic, really enjoys his work, ears always forward!

Snaffle mouthed, not a dead to the leg plod, likes to go forward & March on, enjoys what he does & keen , not a spooky type, a good doer, very low maintenance.
No known health issues.
Only reason for sale is due to working hours & little time to devote to him.

Very loving lad who deserves a job & some attention.

Open to viewing/vetting

Must only go to a home that will appreciate him as much as I have. Tack available to purchase extra.

Loads of videos , please message or call

* probably wouldn’t suit a complete novice or nervous rider due to him being more on the forward/ turbo side.

- Based at a foster yard in Bedfordshire -

Rose is a gentle, sweet-natured cob mare who has recently returned into our care through absolutely no fault of her own, and she is now looking for her new home as a non-ridden companion. Living out 24/7 on sparse grazing, Rose is a perfect match for other good doers who also need restricted grass. Rose can live with both mares and geldings, and could adapt to part stabling with a steady routine.

Rose can be a little unsure at times, especially when settling in, but with a quiet home and a calm, confident handler she will truly flourish. She absolutely loves a good groom and will soak up every bit of fuss and affection.

Plutonium (Pluto) is a homebred gelding out of eventing stallion Opposition Bombshell, standing at about 15.1hh. We have loose jumped Pluto at home, proving to have a bold and scopey jump. I believe he would be successful in eventing or showjumping- a real raw 5yo ready for someone to put their stamp on.

His mother had a successful career in amateur dressage and showjumping. Competing at the national dressage championships in Cricklands, and jumping at the pony club newcomers championships multiple times.

I lightly backed Pluto as a 3yo where he was incredibly straight forward and laid back. I am now bringing him back into work and will aim to be doing some shows with him, so price will reflect work load.

Loose jumping videos are available and please feel free to ring me with any questions!

Summers in the air

16.1hh 4yr old Coloured ISH Mare
Sire: Airborn

Broken and proving to be a kind, genuine young horse with a fantastic temperament and a quick, trainable brain.

Summer has established the basics well and is schooling sweetly on the flat, working nicely in walk, trot, and canter. She has popped around cross-country fences at home and has also jumped a course of show jumps away from home, taking everything in her stride.

She has been hacking out in company to continue building her confidence and is proving sensible in traffic and not at all spooky.

Summer has all the attributes to make a fantastic:

• Eventer
• All-rounder
• Mother/Daughter share
• Show horse
• Dressage prospect

She is a straight, big-moving mare with plenty of quality and is ready for someone to put their own stamp on her.

A pleasure to handle and deal with on the ground:

• Good to catch
• Loads and travels well
• Good for the farrier

Summer has been shown successfully as a 1, 2 and 3-year-old, so she is already quite worldly and experienced for her age.

As a homebred, it would be lovely to keep in touch with her new owners and follow her future progress.

Summer is looking for an experienced 5* home where she can reach her full potential.

Located near Junction 22, M5, Somerset.

Due to personal circumstances I have made the very difficult decision to part with my 16.2HH, 7 year old gelding WD Total Eclipse.

I purchased Arthur in utero and have brought him on slowly and correctly to be a super all round horse who can turn his hoof to anything, beach rides, showing, dressage, jumping, cross country.

He has a great temperament, no vices and is open to vet.

He is not a novice ride and has been out of work for 6 months due to no fault of his own so will need brought back into work.

Have owned him since 9 months old, has been professionally backed and brought on slowly.
He has 3 balanced, established paces, showing potential to be a top dressage horse, would thrive with a knowledgable rider who has the ability and ambition to further his education.
He has been placed in unaffiliated intro 2 and prelim with scores in the mid to late 60s
Not a sharp horse, very sensible, light in the mouth and very easy to ride, has an active mind waiting for commands.

Good to box, shoe, hacks out alone and in company, passes heavy traffic

Somerwood Susie
16.1hh 14 yrs old ISH Skewbald Mare
Bazaars Texas x Last of the Lees

Susie has been with me for the past 4 years and has competed at a variety of events including SEG Eventing, PC teams and individual showjumping, PC Arena eventing, Team chasing, and lots of PC rallies. She has previously competed comfortably at 90 with plenty of scope and has schooled 1.10 at home.

She has been part of the winning PC 90 team at Gatcombe Horse Trials and has competed in the PC Arena Eventing at Blenheim Horse trials. We have also showjumped at Hartpury and Rectory Farm.

She frequently goes clear in the time when showjumping and can produce a nice dressage test. She is soft mouthed but nicely forward going. Hacks out alone or in company. She was low mileage when I bought her so needed some producing but will make anyone a really nice eventer/showjumper!

She is a super genuine and clever mare who will get you out of any sticky situation. She loves her job so would suit an amateur competition home. Recent double clears include Calmsden and Hazelton Manor (ODE 90) so she is fit and ready to go!

Good to shoe/box/clip/catch and up to date on dentist/physio/worming etc.

She has no vices and is not marish (I have never seen her put her ears back ever !). Has had hock injections once for very minor issue - happy to explain further.

A heartbreaking sale as I am going to university this autumn so only genuine offers for this lovely mare please.
