Cob, Mare, 6 years, 14.2 hands
Extremely smart, Irish cob
There really are not enough words to describe the totally genuine character of this lovely mare
Betty carries herself in a natural outline, has 3 good paces – her canter really covers the ground and is extremely comfortable (no bad backs on this one!) She works beautifully in the school, is forward and responsive, wants to please you and has a very trainable temperament. She listens to half halts, there is no need to kick but at the same time she is not at all strong. She has the paces, temperament and trainability to do affiliated dressage with the right jockey
Betty Boo loves her jumping and while she will never take you to Badminton, she is 100% genuine to a fence. She isn’t fazed by the look of a fence, you could trot round a course of showjumps if you were wanting to gain confidence but she also goes round in a lovely rhythm in canter and she makes a super shape
She is fantastic cross country, doesn’t hesitate at water or ditches or anything scary looking, doesn’t hot up or pull, takes no notice of other horses or dogs racing around her, is happy to stand and watch while someone else is having their turn and does all this happily in a snaffle and a cavesson noseband
She hacks out on her own or in company, in front or behind, you can enjoy a canter across open fields safe in the knowledge that the brakes are in tip top condition when you need to pull up at the end!
Betty is a pleasure to have on the yard, has a wonderfully happy temperament, you can go in and sit with her while she is lying down having a sleep, she stands tied up forever to be fussed and brushed, lives in or out, has no vices (apart from taking my hat off my head with her teeth on occasions and throwing it across the yard.... ditto with a haynet that’s been left lying around....:-)), is good in traffic, to catch and stands like a rock for the farrier. She goes out in the field with mares and geldings and is not at all squealy or ticklish as some mares are
This delightful little horse would be a fantastic, safe Pony Club Pony for a teenager or would suit a slightly more mature rider who was looking for something smart, kind and safe that isn’t ploddy, to hack, do fun rides and all Riding Club activities. She certainly has the right amount of scope and temperament to get on Riding Club teams and with the right rider she would do a BE80 and maybe BE90
A very special home is sought for this very special girl where she will be someone's friend for life
