Hanoverian, Chestnut, Gelding, 5 years, 16 hands
Rising 5 years old - By Belissimo M / Weltmeyer. Scored 70% in first few outings.
This stunning boy has been carefully and slowly backed in January this year and has proved to possess that rare combination of talent & temperament. Only been under saddle a couple of months but is very calm, willing, uncomplicated and very expressive.
Three quality gaits with the most fabulous temperament and work attitude. Beautiful length of neck and easy top line. Good active walk, lovely loose super expressive flashy natural trot and superb uphill canter. Hacked out like a pro from day one in company and on own around the lanes and fields. Been out three times to different venues now, scoring 70% with loads more to come, foot perfect in the arenas and 100% to load and travel. Now ready to crack on and win. Behaved perfectly and didn't look at a thing. Will quickly move up to Novice/ Elementary this year. 0 BD points (we went HC) so perfect to come up through the levels.
Brodie’s sire, Belissimo M himself was a model student under saddle: top auction horse, record breaking stallion performance test winner, Bundeschampion and a finalist at the World Championships for young dressage horses.
After a break from competing, he returned in 2011 at the advanced (S) level, and straight away he achieved victories and placings in Grand-Prix under Hayley Beresford. In recognition of his breeding significance, Belissimo M has been honoured in a way that only a few top stallions have. He now is allowed to perform as representative of his homeland, as Belissimo NRW. The Holsteiner Verband has also honoured his extraordinary breeding qualities in 2010 by granting him a rare approval to breed Holsteiner mares as a sire of a foreign blood-line.
Weltmeyer – Brodie’s Dam Sire - a legendary horse when it comes to capacity for dressage and the temperament necessary for a top competitor, this stallion simply cannot be beaten. In 2005, Weltmeyer received a Breeding Value Index of 152 points, with an assurance of 99% heritability, from the German Equestrian Federation. Weltmeyer was known for passing on expression and movement quality which are clearly shining through in Brodie.
Brodie is also showing a nice technique over a fence and with more jump training would easily make a super smart eventer. Old splint on front leg doesn't affect him at all. Great feet, barefoot at the moment but 100% to trim.
His great temperament and trainability makes him the perfect horse for a young rider / amateur to bring on and have fun with, whilst being extremely competitive. With his affectionate, easy-going nature he will be a real pleasure to bring on.
